Missing 'hdparm' package

Hi,

I've updated my Raspbian Stretch (updated this morning to the very latest kernel) and I've noticed that the 'hdparm' package can no longer be installed - is there any reason why this package is no longer available as I find it a very useful program when dealing with usb drives?

Cheers

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

@billw Is it possible to stop mp4box from running and just keep the h264 file recorded by PiKrellCam instead (I'm quite happy with this format)? You can change the video_filename suffix. In pikrellcam.conf, change line: video_filename $M_%F_%H.%M.%S_$N.mp4 to video_filename $M_%F_%H.%M.%S_$N.h264 A...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

@billw I'm still having the occasional glitch when mp4box fails to convert a recorded video (I've updated my Pi's software and changed power supply's and the camera module itself). Is it possible to stop mp4box from running and just keep the h264 file recorded by PiKrellCam instead (I'm quite happy ...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Not familiar with the official supply; hopefully comes with a good USB cord. I think many of the "low voltage" problems were due to cheap thin-conductor cables with too much voltage drop at the current drawn by R-Pi. But if not power supply, then I'm out of guesses (unless you've relocated your med...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I have not had the mp4 conversion error you report (have been running PiKrellCam 24/7 for a week or so). This is a wild guess, but if the power supply is marginal, it might cause some bitstream errors during record, and create the .mp4 file conversion error. Do you know you have a solid 5V input to...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

1st of All to billw (and jbeale) congratulations on an excellent program - much better than using motion on it's own. Now to my problem, every now and then PiKrellCam will start deleting videos that have been created (either motion triggered or manually triggered) just as they've been converted to m...

Re: RPi 2 Model B Locking Up

@dom

Thanks to your advice of resetting to 900mhz my Rpi is still alive and kicking using the onboard nic. It's weird how I could run it @ 1000mhz for fairly long periods of time - but I'm more than happy to keep it ticking along at it's standard speed.

Many thanks.

Re: RPi 2 Model B Locking Up

@ dom,

I've now reverted back to the on board networking (using the 900mhz default) and I'll see if it keeps going. I'll report back tomorrow after I get home from work.

Cheers

Re: RPi 2 Model B Locking Up

Right, this is hopefully my last update regarding the issues I've been having. As of today the Pi2 has been running successfully for : 17:27:50 up 1 day, 17:51 Which is the longest I've had it running without crashing on me. Using a different network adapter (along with updating the kernel on monday...

Re: RPi 2 Model B Locking Up

Right, time for another update... Last night I swapped out the on-board ethernet for a realtek based one, I updated the kernel again with rpi-update and I reset the Rpi's speed back to 900mhz from the 1000mz overclock I'd been running. So far I've had 18 hours solid performance (just running htop an...

Re: RPi 2 Model B Locking Up

Further updates, Came home from work around 17:40PM to find all 4 cores were maxed out and the pi had stopped responding properly. Checked syslog to see it had crashed around 17:28. I'm now trying it without motion running and using a usb-to-ethernet adaptor rather than the onboard network,to see if...

Re: RPi 2 Model B Locking Up

I've also experienced the 'lock-up' on my new RPi 2 (keyboard and mouse both dead), and I've also had the network fail to respond to ssh login attempts (I can still ping the Pi). I'm using a brand new 2A power supply (there's no little rainbow coloured box in the corner indicating insufficent power)...

Media Centre Case For B+

Hi All, I've attached some pics of my new B+ only media centre case. It allows you to re-route the hdmi (via a cheap angle hdmi adapter) and micro-usb cables through the back, and unlike most media centre cases it's quite happy on it's side, or lying flat and there's lots of space for air to flow be...

Hi All, For those of you who haven't seen my previous post in the cases section (http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=86575), I've decided to see if there's enough interest to do a small production run (10 to start with) of my new revised all-in-one camera case (see 2nd post above)...

Re: Camera case For B+

I've now refined my design and hopefully made it a better case all-round. This version routes the micro-usb cable out the same side as the usb/ethernet ports, keeps the power cable safe inside the case. It also has a side mount for the camera as well as the front mount. See what you think.. Cheers m...

New Case for B+ (stackable)

Been a long time since I posted a new case design, so here's my 1st B+ specific case. It's got full access to the GPIO ports and there will be a version with access to the CSI/DSI ports as well. I've attached some pics, and as you'll see it only uses 3 M4 stand-offs rather than the usual 4, and that...

Hi All, It's been a while since I've posted a new case design on the forum, so here goes.
