Re: HDMI: font sizes, simple graphics by g++ C

After building and installing the library, you must specify these paths to build your own code outside of the tree:

gcc -I/opt/vc/include -I/opt/vc/include/interface/vmcs_host/linux -I/opt/vc/include/interface/vcos/pthreads anysource.c -o anysource -lshapes

@SteveA: OpenVG library author here: I'm glad the library is working for you. Re: SaveEnd() -- the program https://github.com/ajstarks/openvg/blob/master/util/raw2png.go will convert this raw file to png. (If you don't want to install Go, I can probably make a binary for your system) Re: fonts. What...

Re: "deck" a presentation tool

Another "remote" method is to use the deck web API: you can control a deck from any computer that speaks HTTP. In this case a Raspberry Pi is connected to some display, listening to web requests.

Re: Display image slide show from command line(no startx)

Yeah , looking at it again OpenVG does not concern itself with such things. Have you looked at readymade solutions like info-beamer or PiPresents ? I guess without HW acceleration slideshows might be stuttery on the single-core Pi models , which will limit you to hardcore C programming. ghans See a...

Re: Display image slide show from command line(no startx)

Note that the deck package has an OpenVG client for the Raspberry Pi.
This package uses a standard markup language for presentations, allowing
you to mix text and graphics.

Re: The Go Programming Language on the Raspberry Pi

Note that as of Go 1.5 (currently under development, build process will change, because the toolchain will be converted from C to Go, and you will need a 1.4 version to bootstrap.

Re: The Go Programming Language on the Raspberry Pi

yes, this is an old thread. The way I install Go on the Raspberry Pi to is install from source: 1) get the source from https://golang.org/dl (the latest as of this writing is go1.4.2.src.tar.gz) 2) untar (I untar it into $HOME/go) 3) cd $HOME/go/src 4) ./all.bash Note that building from source on th...

Re: golang?

I've been doing Go on the Pi for a while. The idea is to simply treat it like any other Linux box. In general, things, including third-party libraries "just work". In terms of setup, I usually build from source, and follow the usual conventions -- be sure to set up your GOPATH, and you will be good ...

Re: rotate images on screen

After further research, the simplest API I found is ajstarks's openvg layer. Run the Shapedemo here https://github.com/ajstarks/openvg successfully in my B+. Starting to give a try with my own code. But before that, I have some questions hoping others can help: 1. Other than jpeg, what image format...

Re: Modern UI frameworks?

OpenVG does not provide a UI, but the building blocks are there for the 2D display. If you are familiar with Processing, the Raspberry Pi OpenVG library: https://github.com/ajstarks/openvg might be useful to you. It provides a high-level abstraction to the built-in OpenVG facilities in both C and Go...

Re: High Speed Data Monitor

I've updated the git repository to include three fonts and text rendering. It's a basic implementation, but it works. I would like to redo the implementation to allow the full list of installed fonts, but that is a ways off because i need to create/find a TrueType to openvg font converter. I would ...
