Re: How to singulair a PI in ethernet?

I suspect that I know the cause of your problem but I can not confirm because you masked the mac address.
What I think is that you got a cheap "fake" ethernet adapters and both have the same mac address.

Re: Lots of networking issues with Raspberry Pi 4 B

Pinging to my Pi from my laptop doesn't work, it just gives me "General failure" 4 times in a row, and right now I'm unable to ping to my laptop from my Pi as the only spare keyboard I have that I normally use for my Pi is being used by someone else. Please provide the complete IP address AND get i...

wireless client security separation / AP isolation ?

It would be very helpful if you would give a complete description of your configuration and network.

Interesting, not seen it on Pi, but I do get occasional pauses of about 10s on my x86 laptop (I7, 16GB RAM) when using Chrome. So I don't think it's limited to the Pi, or even the ARM architecture.
Lately I see this occasionally on my Samsung TAB S4.

Re: How to hw-disable the Raspbery Pi-4 Wlan-/Sd-Card Controller CYW 43455 (aka BCM43438)

Your one substantive "clarification": ... guaranteeing no traffic on the SD bus [from SoC SD host controller to SDIO device] is misleading, since it implies that traffic in the reverse direction is possible. It isn't. [from SoC SD host controller to SDIO device] refers to the SD bus, not the traffi...

Re: How to hw-disable the Raspbery Pi-4 Wlan-/Sd-Card Controller CYW 43455 (aka BCM43438)

IMHO there is some confusion, I have made some changes in the quoted text: Please see PhilE's post above for what SDIO is actually present on the Pi4. But for completeness, I'll quote it here. To confirm what others have said, the SoCs have two SD host controllers (actually three on the BCM2711 in P...

This all would be avoidable, I guess, I you guys would have been more nice, and just showed me how to properly hardware disconnect the CYW43455, for instance by cutting its wiring! Why cut ? If you ask nicely you can have a Pi 4 customized without the CYW43455. https://www.element14.com/community/d...

but if it has 2x usb 3.0 ports it should be able to support 2 devices being plugged in Just because there are multiple ports doesn't mean there is unlimited power available. You have a total of 1.2A across all 4 ports in total and this is assuming you have a good quality 3A PSU. The USB 3 standard ...

Do you know what's going on?
How many do you need ?

I wonder with a very low belief that it's possible.
How do I RECOVER the root password? I can NOT reset it as the whole system uses the same root password so it won't work.
Are you sure that a root password has been set on this system ?

It might be possible that your host keys got corrupted on the initial startup, like if you removed power after first boot.

What you can try is to regenerate the host keys:

Code: Select all

sudo rm /etc/ssh/ssh_host*
sudo ssh-keygen -A
