Re: volta 2.0 cables with magnets

I have been using this type of cable for Micro USB over a few years, currently I have some for Lightning and USB-C charging. I can not recommend this type of cable for powering the Raspberry Pi, even with the magnet the connection can be broken when accidentally pushing on the connector. For a phone...

Re: Can the 7” touchscreen be used without screws?

I have a raspberry pi 7” touchscreen but didn’t get the screws for it and I don’t have the right size. Is it possible to use it without screws? And if not, then what are some common items where I can find the right screws? Thanks in advance! A little bit of research can give the answers: https://ww...

Re: Wireless Access Point wont assign IP

I have followed just the first part where I create the AP. This is my third attempt at this and I keep getting the same problem. In that case you must have done something wrong three times. I have not yet experimented with this type of AP because I have my own dhcp. What is noticeable about your pr...

Re: Latest kernel update started spoofing MAC address

After filing a bug report the developers have come up with a fix for any one having this problem. Add "force_mac_address=00:00:00:00:00:00" to the config.txt file located in boot partition of your drive. It is really remarkable that the problem only occurs with your WiFI adapter :( In the meanwhile...

Re: RPi3B+ network ping breaking regularly

This behavior is really hampering file transfer to and from Samba shares as transfer take longer then required to be completed, if not fail altogether, in short killing purpose of having NAS. You may have a disk drive giving problems, like retries on IO operations. I suggest that you observe operat...

Very strange, something is definitely going wrong.
IMHO somebody from Raspbian should look into this, did you report an issue for this ? http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianBugs

Re: Usb hub

Hello I got a question how many USB hubs can I connect to a raspberry pi? And to configure remote? Quite a few I think, but there is a limitation that you must consider: There are 8 host channels (i.e. state machines capable of carrying out a single USB transfer to/from a single endpoint) which mea...

Re: Latest kernel update started spoofing MAC address

Running a Pi Zero headless and after the latest raspberrypi-kernel update from ver. 1.20190401-1 to 1.20190517-1 it caused the MAC address to change from the hardware address of 00:0e:ba:01:89:2f to a Raspberry Pi foundation address of b8:27:eb:29:78:18. I quickly realized this caused my router to ...

Re: Can't Compile Any More! Please need help!

Upgrading (in place) a system to Stretch is an iffy process. When I tried it, last year, I encountered all sorts of issues. The usual recommendation is to burn the latest version of Stretch to a new SD card and then reconfigure it to your taste. The time that this takes is (for most people) well wo...

Re: Cannot connect to WiFi if password contains "#"

Is there a way to escape a "#" character in the wifi password? I am using the latest minimal stretch version on RPi 3b+. Took me awhile to troubleshoot to isolate the problem down to the wifi password. Using the ASCII encoding of the password also does not seem to work. On my test equipment I do no...

Your problem could be a corrupted and/or fake memory card. but [*] It's connected to my home network with wifi with port forwarding in my router for ssh port 22, for me to manage it when I'm out By the way, before I truncated the pi, I investigated the auth.log and btmp files. I'm almost certain it ...

3 years later, I'm having the some issue. Can anyone give any hint? My system was working fine until I noticed it was out of space. Re: number of users that can connect to raspberry 3b

But my use case needs to use the RPi as a all-in-one standalone device. So any external AP (just like any wireless adaptor) is out of scope for this project. If you want to know why, have a look here: https://moodlebox.net/en/help/what-is-the-moodlebox/. I have been testing the RPi3B as Access Poin...

Re: Raspbian is sending invalid ARP Response

It is not the Raspberry, it is the Asus functioning as a WiFi extender that changes the OUI. "An OUI {Organizationally Unique Identifier} is a 24-bit number that uniquely identifies a vendor or manufacturer. They are purchased and assigned by the IEEE. The OUI is basically the first three octets of ...
