The first thing I would do is "cat /etc/iptables.ipv4.nat".

Re: Error when attempting to format new SD card.

Sorry but I'm not playing 20 questions on this issue. If you can't tell from the subject line and body of my first post what's going on then please don't respond. The tactic of starting a game of 20 questions is usually begun by those who don't have a clue about what's going on. It's used merely to...

Re: Error when attempting to format new SD card.

[ The following is based on the previous posts: Why do you want to format the memory card. Seriously?!?!?! Look at item #4 in STICKY: 27 Common Pitfalls for Beginners. Etcher automatically reformats the card before installing any OS. Other sets of instructions include formatting. Two things 1) I ha...

Re: Error when attempting to format new SD card.

Getting the message: unable to open /dev/sdb: No medium found What am I doing wrong? I do not have anything that I can use to confirm my thoughts, according to me the problem is that you can not "format" an SD card. You can format a partition with a file system by using the assigned device name, li...

Re: Does shrinking, expanding the partition doesnt allow to boot?

I havent wrecked the card, does resizing wreck the card? I dont think so. After all the files in the partitions are intact. In that case there should not be a problem booting the raspberry pi, or are there problems ? The proper procedure is backup, practice, restore, practice, and repeat until succ...

I suggest you format the card and that you start from scratch using the "official" instructions instead of something you found on the internet: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/wireless/access-point.md Hint: "denyinsterfaces wlan0" and editing "/etc/network/interfaces" is not ...

Re: Why 80 pin IDE cable fried my Pi

That cable WAS DESIGNED and INTENDED FOR USE with IDE drives and NOT FOR THE RPi GPIO. It was your fault for using it, that fried your RPi, not the fault of the designer of the cable. saw this in one article: "....somebody put raw eggs in a microwave oven and it exploded upon turning on....causing ...

Ernst, Yes the post about reading the topic and it having a discrepancy, was to perform the usb gadget test. And that failed with the 4GB card but worked with the 8GB card. In this test the only variant is the micro SD card, that implies that there is something with the type of card causing the pro...
