Re: Power supply for WD PiDrives (Foundation)

It depends on your Pi, the powersupply and the cable, in general the answer is that you do not need a separate power supply for the PiDrive. The standard 5.1V 2.5A power supply, with / without the WD cable, on a Pi 3 will work without a problem. The WD power supply with the WD cable may give power l...

Re: How do I output power to GPIO pin?

As the cable that I already have, is able to provide power through black and red cable, if I can connect it to the transistor and the other part to the lamp, then attach the transistor to GPIO pins (Base) to control if it is high or low. Would that workaround work? Do I need the resistor? I do not ...

Update: I just now installed the latest Raspbian using a 32GB card on a Pi Zero and it only took a few minutes to extend the partition and to bring up the interface. The first message on my PC was that an USB device was not recognized, the next message was that a driver was being installed, once don...

This post reminded me of something. I noticed a problem while playing around with a Pi Zero and one of the latest Raspbians. The Zero was connected with HDMI to my monitor and I noticed that it was booting but the ethernet (usb) connection was not coming up. I interrupted the boot and went back to t...

Re: PI Zero W via usb

What USB cable did you use ? You must use a normal cable, an OTG cable/adapter will not work.
Which USB port did you use ? The outside USB port is for power only, the USB port in the middle is the one you have to use to connect to the computer.

Re: direct ethernet connection b/w windows PC & headless pi

The answer is very simple - you must configure internet connection sharing on your laptop. (use google if needed) The default gateway 0.0.0.0 is correct, the problem is the IP-address in 169.254.0.0/16 because your are missing a dhcp service to configure the interfaces on the Pi and the laptop. Re: Usb port advice.

You could just solder the wires to the pads (circuit board) under the port without removing it. Just tape over it so nothing else gets plugged into it. You'll only have issues if two devices are connected to the same port. You don't have to remove it, unless you have clearance issues. I like this i...

I gave you list a quick look over and I found at least 4 addresses that are not in your list. At the moment I am setting up a test configuration (without fail2ban) to get some more information on who/where is trying to get in before I take look at geoblocking.
