Re: kernel install

This is on the Adafruit website at https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-raspberry-pi-educational-linux-distro/occidentalis-v0-dot-2# At the bottom of that page: We also have a Kernel+Modules tgz file, after you've copied this over to your pi, run the following commands tar -zxvf mykernel.tgz sudo cp ...

You could start by checking out some of the links here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewt ... 63&t=51436
And the MagPi is a great source for all kinds of Pi related stuff, including Python programming. See http://www.themagpi.com/

Could it be a browser cache issue?
Refreshing several times had no effect. After removing the website specific settings for www.raspberrypi.org the menu is working :)

Is it just me, or was the site updated today? Nice to see it 'responsive' (sorry for the buzzword, but it is in pretty common use these days). But, the menu thumb thing is not working for me, either on the phone or in Firefox in a skinny window. So can't open the main menu. Just sayin'. Just saw a ...

Remove the backslash from the install command line:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install libtiff4-dev libjpeg8-dev zlib1g-dev libfreetype6-dev liblcms2-dev libwebp-dev tcl8.5-dev tk8.5-dev
and try again.

What software do you use to watch the movies?

It looks that you are streaming video from the Internet (?). Are you sure the connection is working?

Re: Raspbmc Ethernet ssh not working

Some time ago SSH to Raspbmc stopped working for me.
In my case I had to edit '/etc/xinetd.d/ssh config': change 'flags = IPv6' to 'flags = IPv4'.
(see e.g. http://forum.stmlabs.com/showthread.php?tid=9944 )

Re: Wifi verbinding openbare netwerken.

AFAICS this is about the XBMC (or maybe Raspbmc) logo. not the RasPi logo. The OP is aware of the nologo solution for that one.

Are you sure the machine at that address is your Pi?
Looking at IP address, combined with the open ports, I would guess it's a router.

Niet rechtstreeks want de Pi heeft geen bluetooth dongle.
Er zijn echter wel apps voor XBMC remote besturing via wifi.

Oh, and if you used broadcast and network lines in the static ip settings it's best to remove them. Apparently there's potential for problems if you keep them.

What was the other remote access you mentioned? Is that the command prompt style access? AFAICS the main options are rdp (don't know if that works), VNC (activate in Raspbmc system menu; have not used it myself) and SSH (gives the command line). I tend to use SSH for some behind the scenes work, bu...
