Re: Install New Programs: Which Installer?

I want to be sure it won't turn off or something
You don't need any power management tool for that (at least not on Raspbian). It will not shut itself down, and since the power consumption is almost negligible I wouldn't bother installing any power management tool.

Re: Install New Programs: Which Installer?

Assuming you're using a Raspbian distro you can use 'apt-get install' to install programs. You can also use 'apt-cache search' to see if programs are available for the Pi. For example: sudo apt-get update apt-cache search pysol shows you that Pysolfc is available in the Raspbian repo (if I interpret...

Re: missing raspi-config

That's odd. Are you sure you're using one of the Raspbian distros?

I think you should be able to install it with

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install raspi-config

Information: The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: boot image usb. Well known fact that search function on phpbb boards is not very good. Try google site search by adding 'site:www.raspberrypi.org' to your search. https://www.google.com/search?q=si...

Yes but how do I upload the sketch to the arduino over usb? I wouldn't know, I only use Arduino with my Gertboard. When I search for Arduino IDE on this forum I get several hits, though. BTW: This *does* show the importance of giving as much relevant info a you can. You were asking about *installin...

Re: 64-bit toolchain

Just out of interest, how much performance gain do you get running a 64bit compiler vs the 32 bit one? As a percentage improvement in time to compile. Maybe interesting: I read a discussion on the Freepascal mailing list just this week. One of the reasons they don't distribute the 64bit Windows bin...

The date on the files is October 2012.
Can't be the softfloat (that image is older), but it's also not the latest hardfloat (which should be dated 9/2/13, some files are dated 8/2/13)

I had a quick look at the script and I'm wondering if you still need the GUI after the first run (that's when you authorise the script to use dropbox).

From http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/gdebi-core:
gdebi lets you install local deb packages resolving and installing its dependencies.

Re: Cannot Execute wget

A *.deb is a debian package. It is not an executable. To install, first install gdebi to avoid dependency issues that can occur with a local *.deb install with apt-get. You don't need the gui stuff, so 'gdebi-core' should be enough. sudo apt-get install gdebi-core sudo gdebi advancemame-raspberrypi...

I would say that it's even easier to make your own backup image, which saves you the time of re-configuring your installation.

There was a problem with the first PDF that was available and the MagPi people uploaded a new one.
If the size is more than 30MB you have the faulty one (which btw displays fine on my Fire HD).
