Just solved it (for me)

My /boot/config.txt contained the line:

Code: Select all

framebuffer_depth=24
Commented out this line and rebooted, all worked flawlessly again.

I have the exact same issue after apt update and apt upgrade. My uname -a shows the exact same info, apart from the host name of course ;-) Also haven't been able to solve the issue. Did manage to get to the X11 log file: [ 1117.500] X.Org X Server 1.20.4 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 [ 1117.550...

By the way, if you run "sudo ./vl805" with no parameters it displays the version of the currently running firmware. Note that this may differ from what's in the EEPROM if you've just reprogrammed it but not rebooted. Hi When I run "sudo ./vl805", the message "* no VL805 found". How is that possible...
