Re: Omxplayer acting silly on mp3's

Yes - I can confirm it has played MP3 files (see below)... I've had it playing MP3 streams before also... it doesn't do playlists though. $ omxplayer -o hdmi /home/shares/public/external/My\ Music/We\ Love\ -\ Krafty\ Kuts.mp3 file : /home/shares/public/external/My Music/We Love - Krafty Kuts.mp3 re...

Re: How to change from Squeeze to Wheezy?

Nyah - I just got back from my hols and did an rpi-update and got this: [email protected]:~$ sudo rpi-update Raspberry Pi firmware updater by Hexxeh, enhanced by AndrewS Performing self-update Autodetecting memory split Using ARM/GPU memory split of 192MB/64MB Updating firmware (this will take a few mi...

Re: How to change from Squeeze to Wheezy?

I too installed the Debian Squeeze armel SD image linked to from the RaspberryPi.org downloads page a couple of months or so back... I can't find any trace of it now though! I have all kinds of stuff set up on it - I remember I needed to compile a few packages like get_iplayer or was it ffmpeg? Cert...

Ahhh yes - of course, noticed the same nickname now! I don't know how I managed to troubleshoot a perl script with my brain

I am glad I didn't get a bridge also :)

Re: Perl script to access CurrentCost Envi

Ahhh - I think I may have sorted it - I added 'my' to line 40

Code: Select all

my $response = `$wget`;
It's now running - I feel like I've learned something today :)

Next step getting to run at boot....

Re: Perl script to access CurrentCost Envi

Hi - I stumbled on this thread over on the Current Cost forum where a user is using a RasPi to upload data to cosm.com (is it you OP?) who provides a perl script. I just about get by with CLI but my programming skills are non-existent. I thought I would have a go as I've got the Envi and cable and a...

Re: Stream audio from command line

One thing I've found with omxplayer is that it won't do playlists like .pls and .m3u which will be useful for audio streams.. (e.g. playlists often have alternative urls in case the first one doesn't work), you could add the same URL to your stream of choice loads of times and it should connect back...

Re: Stream audio from command line

Hi - I haven't tried the starting-up from boot part, but I've streamed successfully with omxplayer... bearing in mind you have omxplayer installed, try this: From /home/pi make a script like: nano runradio.sh type this command in nano and save it by pressing ctrl-x omxplayer -o hdmi server.address:p...

Re: Firmware/kernel incompatibility?

I am getting the same errors, I haven't done anything fancy (like writing my own code or testing the latest commits) as I'm still getting my head around linux, but I did recently start getting these errors after an rpi-update. I was playing with tmux last night (what a revelation!) when it started b...

I've been wondering the same thing... google says no. I've tried a few formats to no avail (m3u & pls). Hmm - I might try xml...

I wouldn't know where to start trying to make that happen, but it would certainly be handy!

Re: omxplayer play controls / input

I like this :) I'm also impressed with omxplayer, great quality & performance - I also love being able to control it via command line over SSH, but my family were less impressed by me getting them to press 'p' on my android phone  So I wondered about hacking together an android app to act as a ...

Re: HOWTO: YouTube on the Raspberry Pi - sans X B-)

I didn't get any sound via hdmi but using the following to '__init__.py' before install worked: mplayer = subprocess.Popen( ['omxplayer', '-ohdmi', url.decode('UTF-8').strip()], stdout = subprocess.PIPE, stderr = subprocess.PIPE) mplayer.wait() I first tried unsuccessfully with '-o hdmi' and a few e...

Re: omxplayer - GPU enabled video player

Has anyone successfully got any sort of network streaming to work with this guy? The source code has a few references to http, mms, and rtmp, but I haven't been able to get them to work as a stream. I've gotten http to work playing a video file sitting on a server, but never a http stream or mms st...
