Re: Bluetooth for Squeezeplug & Squeezelite

I thought rpi-update was deprecated? I don't think rpi-update is deprecated, how would one update the firmware if not by using rpi-update? Just that from the command line? You could add the script as a startup daemon, it needs of course some adjustments but that would probably be the best way. But ...

Re: Bluetooth for Squeezeplug & Squeezelite

Just did a rpi-update and now I get a kernel oops once in a while when turning off the headset. I don't have a dump yet, I will take a photo next time it happens. Meanwhile I wrote a little script which checks for the presence of a device with a specific mac address and start squeezelite when its co...

Re: Bluetooth for Squeezeplug & Squeezelite

Hi castalla, thanks for your guide its was real invalvuable and überkool to have music playing on two sqeezelite devices on the same pi. My goal is to have normal livingroom audio through HDMI to my AVR and a bluetooth speaker in the kitchen/bathroom. I don't experience a complete system breakdown w...

It connects over lan. Lirc provides a network service when using the 'listen' flag.

Re: Use Rapsberry Pi As A Remote Control?

Hi, I had the same goal as you some months back. You can achieve this by using the raspberry gpio lirc driver which has been included in the kernel a couple of days ago (I don't know when it will be available through apt-get upgrade). And if you have an android phone I have written a free app where ...

I have also tryid libspotify v6 that runns on squeezebox radio. I have spotify running on the LMS so i have spo...

Re: Updated GPU firmware

I guess it could be related to this github issue and reported in this forum post.

Hopefully the new vchiq code will fix this? Any estimate on when this will be available again for testing?

Re: Updated GPU firmware

I have been running with the latest firmware for a couple of days. I still experience kernel oops after playing music for a while, the crash looks similar to the one posted previous in this thread, but below is a shot of the most recent. I am still unable to retrieve the last part of the dump so if ...

With the latest firmware I have now played flawless internet radio for 5+ hours using the following /etc/asound.conf

Code: Select all

pcm.!default {
  type hw
  card 0
}
No stutter and no freezes.

Re: Updated GPU firmware

Here you go, sorry for the quality but had to keep it under 64kb. The "good bit" is off the bottom of screen. Can you press space and let it scroll to bottom of stack trace? Its completely frozen and doesn't react to the keyboard. I tried it twice. I have no other idea of getting the dump, cat /var...

The new version gave me a new oops when using SqueezePlay. It started fine and played for 3sec and the I got: Unable to handle kernel NULL ptr dereference at virtual address 000001b8 If you need any screendumps of the oops's just let me know. Yes, that sounds like a new bug - screenshots of the sta...

Re: Updated GPU firmware

Would the picture from the pandora crash help at all? It also printed what looks like a trace dump of some kind I think that's okay. I know what's happening with that, but I need the VCHIQ guy to suggest the correct fix. I believe it only occurs when killing an application that is playing audio. Hi...

Help me debug audio driver bug

Hi, I am having a bit of a problem with dropouts in HDMI audio when playing music with SqueezePlay. I am guessing it has to do with a snd_pcm_wait call that doesn't return until the timeout has elapsed, but I need some help tracing it further down into the driver. Others are having similar problems ...

Re: Headless Squeezeplay on RPI

For my primary setup I'm using HDMI so no degradation of quality there. Even for my secondary project building a kitchen RPi based Squeezeplayer radio should the builtin analog audio do just fine.

Re: Headless Squeezeplay on RPI

O.K. got it working with the very friendly help of MBA. But there are some issues: 1. Sound get's stuttering after a few minutes (internal analogue output) 2. How to configure it without a monitor connected on first start? 3. How can I start it on system boot? 4. How can I run it in background? 5. ...

@t1ger what I am very curious about is whether you have stable and stutter-less playback or not? And if so how is your asound.conf and the rest of your system configured? Are you running the latest raspbian / rpi-update and so on. Hi. Yes i'ts shutterfree. Here is the filter free config that im run...

Re: Headless Squeezeplay on RPI

Btw I think the easiest way of compiling SqueezePlay is probably following the 'instructions' in the build script at http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=56769, download the tarball and use the patches inside. I tried to get this to work on raspbian, but I failed. If you are running arch it pro...

Re: Headless Squeezeplay on RPI

Hi Thomas, I send you a pm. I am having the same troubles as salts633. I posted my problems on your SqueezePlug thread, when using 'emulated mmap' in asound.conf I had ...

Re: ALSA on Raspbian

I am guessing that a call to snd_pcm_wait waits the full length of the timeout without the sound driver reports that it is ready. Maybe the driver was ready for data but didn't report it? As it also reports underrun error.

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

I've had reasonable success with Squeezeslave but could still experience the odd dropout after playing a while this, I think, was solved by rpi-update / aptget upgrade. This did not solve my troubles with Squeezeplay though. The system I am running SqueezePlay on now is the standard armhf wheezy fro...
