Hi, i don't own a raspberry pi yet. But i am about to buy one for a project i am working on. (Probably a RPI 3 B+) Hope you haven't bought that 3B+ yet. :D All the replies you've received are valid, when you buy a Pi you get what's in the box. Anything on the board is fixed and cannot be upgraded (...
Appreciating power consumption may be a factor but am wondering; the new 1GB Pi 4 is priced almost the same as a 1GB Pi 3+ so what would prompt someone to purchase a Pi 3+ Form factor, new connectors means new cables/adapters, probably a new enclosure. what's cheaper replacing a like for like or ta...
The official RPI power supply has a button that shuts off power to the RPI News to me, all my Pi's are powered by the Official supply. It could be new, country related or a feature of the enclosure of your Pi (One of my cases does have a power on/reboot/off switch but it's not official). A link to ...
If you're willing to learn some experience with cross compiling I can recommend FPC/Lazarus. Free Pascal (FPC) is a write once compile anywhere compiler which from what I read from your post covers all your needs and also comes with a superb IDE ( Lazarus ). Basically, you write your programs on any...
As promised some feedback for those in a similar situation, I bought a batch of these screws and they work fine for me, be warned though that others have posted on the net that 8mm is not long enough. I don't have an issue but others are saying different.
They would have been able to answer your questions and provide the missing screws, although they are a pi seller they are not part of the raspberry pi foundation. I understand that pcmanbob, but I was asking the general Pi community a question before I bother the Pi Hut with what (for me) is a mino...
OK, before I complain I wish to acknowledge the prompt delivery from the Pi Hut. Ordered yesterday and received today, Thanks guys and you do a wonderful job. Now the complaint, and it is only minor. As I said the package arrived today but it didn't have any screws. Package contents were: KODI Flirc...
@Ernst & @Andyroo Thanks for clarifying that issue, it does help. @bensimmo & again @Ernst Real Life has taken over again, but I'll try a) connecting the cable via the (powered) hub or b) locate another SATA drive to test with. I'll get back probably after the weekend. Guys, you have been splendid. ...
AFAIK Crucial does not supply USB->SATA cable. I suspect that the cable could be your problem. You may well be correct, it could have came with another drive or perhaps purchased separately (memory fails me), in any case the cable worked for a good couple of month and does not explain the persisten...
Hi Guys & Galls, First off I wish to make clear I am not saying this is a Pi related fault, I'm just trying to troubleshoot what may have happened. My SSD failed after ~2 month of more or less constant use. (i.e. powered up but no intensive tasks). Setup below: Raspberry Pi 3B+ Argon One Case Pi Hut...
Another possibility is you have plugged the meter leads in the wrong way round on the meter. As you pi would not work if you had 5V on a ground pin and ground on the 5V pin. That's what I meant pcmanbob, if the OP connects the VM correctly (both polarity and Pins) then what he describes is impossib...
