Rust does not work after successful install

For building a project I need to install Rust toolchain. I followed the instructions and installation was good: https://rustup.rs/# [email protected]:~ $ curl https://sh.rustup.rs -sSf | sh info: downloading installer ... Rust is installed now. Great! To get started you need Cargo's bin director...

Re: Using hot glue to mount 3B ?

I do not like supper glue - it lack "cushioning" , and requires flat non porous surface. I never glued a Pi somewhere, but in general I superglue nearly everything. I had to be careful in supergluing (Lego or other) wheels directly on motor shaft. Once I lost a motor due to superglue getting inside...

Re: controlling a wifi drone using pi 3 B+

I started such a project for a specific drone some time ago (Eachine E52): https://github.com/Hermann-SW/wireless-control-Eachine-E52-drone To control the drone I needed to reverse engineer the Wifi traffic. Under that link you will find how I did that using Ettercap. Until now I am able to receive ...

Re: Cheap RC airplane with "outboard" Pi Zero and camera

... So here after 3 frames the "same" scene appears again. I wanted to be sure and used 640x150_s tool that records every other line/column only and therefore captures with 1007fps as well. Because of the different "capturing position/time after framestart" pair this video is much better to see tha...

Re: 70mm F1.6 3.98° lens allows for clear 500m distant video

I did new videos of same 500m distant houses as discussed. I did shoot first video through open window, warm inside, cold outside, much air movement, very wobbly result: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lq2-9MeRxNs&feature=youtu.be After I closed the window and waited for indoor air movement to settl...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3B/3B+ Slow ethernet

Part of the problem may be to use a browser based test (on Raspberry). I did use speedtest-cli (on PI3B+ and laptop) and was able to get 190Mbps download with PI3B+ (although laptop connected to same Gbit switch did get 386Mbps, I have a 400/20 Mbps line at home): https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/...

Re: raspiraw fps throttling!!!! throttled at 120fps

Hi, in all your runs the MMAL_TIME_UNKNOWN many digit number appears, so I assume you did run out of ramdisk in all runs. Please check "df /dev/shm" command after each run to immediately get feedback in case you exhausted space. For good high framerate recording I never had the need to see a HDMI pr...

Agreed, got worse in the last 5 days.

I did loose two postings I did submit -- in case you want to post more than a sentence, first copy the posting out to a text editor before pressing Submit or Preview, otherwise you have high risk of loosing everything these days.

Yes.
Eg. output with gstreamer fbdevsink to LCD. While I used USB webcam at that time, Raspberry camera can be used as input as well:

Code: Select all

tmpfs 383372 0 383372 0% /dev/shm
ramdisk is full, try to record 5s -- if you do not exhaust RAM you should get videos without frame skips.

Re: raspiraw fps throttling!!!! throttled at 120fps

Hi, I don't know where the very 19 digit numbers come from. But you definitely captured at much more than 120fps (749fps) the second time: capturing frames for 10000ms with 749fps requested 1207 frames were captured at 749fps 749fps is determined by the frame delta observed maximally (289 times): .....

Re: raspiraw fps throttling!!!! throttled at 120fps

Hi,

what Pi model do you use?
I assume that you use a v1 camera because of the tools used.
Which v1 camera do you use?
The tools store under /dev/shm ramdisk normally, did you change the tools?
Can you show a tool's frame delay and skip analysis of a throttled run here?

Re: Disable wan0 by jumper?

You can define <pin> as pull-down: gpio mode <pin> down If that pin is not connected, read gives you 0. If you connect <pin> to <3V3>, it gives you 1. Since there is only one <3V3> pin and many <GND> pins, I prefer setting as pull-up. Then a cable between <pin> and <GND> will give 0, without you rea...

I extended the 512m long line until it hits the distant trees on Google maps -- the trees are 4.5km distant. Will see whether I can get clear pictures of those trees by adjusting lens. I measured the angle between blue line and house wall of right house in video, roughly 60°. I measured the length o...

All HDMI splitter solutions I saw on google do display same image on different screens. Even with shipping cost a 5$ Pi Zero per device is much less than the cost of the display you want to drive. With 10$ Pi ZeroW per display you would have Wifi as well. It seems still that you can only buy one, so...
