Re: Seeking advice about hard drives from PVR/DVR

Also worth thinking about how you want to use the drive before starting saving recordings, and format / partition accordingly! If only used with the Pi then a "native" Linux format (ext4) is better, but if you want to swap it onto Windows or Mac systems then consider exFAT (and install exfat-fuse /...

Re: Seeking advice about hard drives from PVR/DVR

Disk size depends on how much you want to keep  Depending on the compression (i.e. action will use more than stationary pictures) you can need 4Gb for an hour down to 2Gb - this is based on my Sony TV recording 1080p Never buy second hand disks - it’s your data after all. I like Hitachi drive...

Re: Need help resolving TVHeadEnd Install Error [Details inside]

Thanks for the replies @DirkS and @fruitoftheloom I tried again this morning and it installed fine. For once this issue wasn't my fault! :D A quick follow up question I'm running the DVB-T Hat on the rPi 2b but the picture has major stutter. Do you know if the Pi 2b is too under powered to ru...

Re: Need help connecting rain sensor to correct pins on Pi Zero W

I believe gpiozero defaults to the BCM numbering system. So, checking on https://pinout.xyz/# gpio 17 for the button (sensor?) is pin 11, and gpio 27 for the buzzer is pin 13. Presumably the buzzer will also need to be connected to a Ground pin and the sensor may need to be connected to a Ground an...

Re: Need help connecting rain sensor to correct pins on Pi Zero W

The gpio pin layout / numbering is exactly the same on a pi2 and a pi zero so you just need to connect the sensor to the same gpio pins on the pi zero as you did on the pi2. Hello, PCManBob, (I think you have helped me in the past with other projects. It's good to still see a familiar name) My prob...

Need help connecting rain sensor to correct pins on Pi Zero W

I originally built the setup on a Raspberry Pi 2. I recently bought a Raspberry Pi Zero W, but I'm not 100% certain which pins I need to attach ev...

Re: Pi Zero W - Headless Set-up issue (ssh and wpa-supplicant.conf files)

Hi and thanks for the reply @klricks I have set up the wpa-suplicant.conf with the details you provided. I updated my country code. I also updated key_mgmt=WPA-PSK to key_mgmt=WPA2-PSK as I think my system used WPA2. Below are my wifi settings so you can get a clearer understanding. https://i.imgur....

Re: Pi Zero W - Headless Set-up issue (ssh and wpa-supplicant.conf files)

Thanks for the tip @ddmitry1973

how do I find /etc/network/interfaces?

Remember that I can't ssh in yet.

I am only able to access the SD card via my Mac at the moment at I can't see /etc/network/interfaces.

Let me know if there is another way for me to access /etc/network/interfaces

Thank you.

2.1mm is size of center pin and 5.5 is outer diameter. The Amp rating needs to be at least 2A For example search for [Power supply 12V 2A 5.5 2.1] Can I just double check with you. Re: Need help selecting a power cable for my LCD control boa

The seller specifies 12VDC 4A. (4A seems like way more than enough). The photo of the controller board shows a barrel type power connection, however they do not indicate the size (diameter) of the barrel connection. Contact the seller. Likely they also sell the power supply in another listing. Than...
