Re: Raspberry Pi 0 W and armv6

Since it's clear that Java9 support for the older ARM6 processors is gone, you'll either need to switch languages, use an old Java, or base your product on the Pi2, Pi3 or CM3. While ARMv6 precompiled binaries for Java 9 are not supplied, with OpenJDK being Open Source, I would presume it is possib...

What the problem with using OpenJDK?
it is not working. i have installed openjdk-9-jdk-headless and is working fine in Pi3. the same is not working on Pi0W. Debian armhf port requires at least an Armv7 CPU

openjdk-9 is not available in raspberrypi repository.

Re: Raspberry Pi 0 W and armv6

Edit add... There are some other possibilities to solve your problem. Take a look at the CM3 and CM3L. If you want to use on-board eMMC flash storage but 4GB isn't enough, consider the NEC CM3 variant with 16GB on board. You could also contact Element 14 about their custom Pi manufacturing program....

Raspberry Pi 0 W and armv6

Hi, my development depends on Java. I have migrate everything to Java 9. now java 9 is not working on armv6. I mange to install it for Pi 3 from Debian repository and is working fine. now the issue is with the armv6 or mainly about BCM2835. is there a plan to migrate it to BCM2837, the same as the l...

Re: issue with 3280 x 2464 resolution

I suspect bitrate control has had to crank the JPEG quality factor too far down and you're seeing significant artifacts. Run "vcgencmd set_logging level=12" before running raspivid, and "sudo vcdbg log msg" afterwards. It should log lines similar to 046522.818: mjpeg_open_module: (3eb29ce0) success...

Re: issue with 3280 x 2464 resolution

It is solved by increasing the GPU memory to 256. Yes, I was about to post that despite the error message it was most likely due to insufficient gpu_mem. I'd run it with 192. I haven't done the maths to work out how much memory is required, but you could run "sudo vcdbg reloc" whilst raspivid is ru...

Re: issue with 3280 x 2464 resolution

The camera can produce up to 8Mpix images, but the h264 codec is limited to 1080P (1920x1080). You could use Mjpeg instead which should just about cope at 8MPix 10fps, but the compression efficiency is much lower. it seems the same happens when using MJPEG pi@raspberrypi:~ $ raspivid -n -t 0 -cd MJ...

Re: Raspbian Stretch (9.1) has arrived !!

i have faced couple of issues in my script: - i cannot disable Power management for wireless. usually i edit '/etc/network/interfaces' and add 'wireless-power off' under the wlan0 - any script in '/etc/network/if-up.d' is previously triggered multiple times based on the number of interfaces. now "$I...

RaspiVid: Unknown DRC level: medium

Hi,

i just notice that option "-drc medium" is giving:

Code: Select all

RaspiVid: Unknown DRC level: medium
is it removed, it is still in the documentation:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... /camera.md

'-drc high' option is still working.

open discussion on the camera latency

Hi, I'm trying to stream live feed from the raspi camera using gstreamer over wifi. i ended up with the best pipeline i can ever have with a round 200 ms. this is considered big for some application. so i tried to segregate the troubleshooting process into phases: - calculate the latency without gst...

Re: Tutorial: Compile VLC with HW acceleration - Jessie, RPi

i have tried it with the latest vlc 3.0.0 git code and it is compiled without issues. on the other hand, it starts throwing errors messages everywhere:

Code: Select all

core stream error: unknown query in demux_vaControlDefault
it might be related to the VLC code since it is not stable.
