Re: Crontab on raspian

You just gave the status of cron, I asked what your crontab looked like (as reported with crontab -l). I gave watchdog.output as an example filename that would contain the output of the attempted running of your script. It would be created when cron tries running your script and as I explicitly gav...

Re: DynamicDNS And Wordpress

If this is just set up on a localnet, you can use the host name if you install dnsmasq in the server RPi. I would recommend changing one of the host names so there is no duplicates. The host name can be changed in raspi-config if using Pixel. Install dnsmasq on the server. You can access it with th...

Re: DynamicDNS And Wordpress

It is that. You must register a domain name with a registration company. Do a Google search for "domain name registration". You must assign the bind severs that provide dns resolution for the domain. If your domain does not have a static IP, you must use a dynamic dns service to maintain the curren...

Re: DynamicDNS And Wordpress

My external ip is dynamic! I'm trying to have a website with a FQDM without having to buy some host service or some service to give a name on a external ip! If the "without having to buy" is the sticking point, there are still some free dynamic DNS services out there. It shouldn't be that! Is it po...

Re: DynamicDNS And Wordpress

If you plan on using a dynamic dns service, you don't need bind or dns. Both done by the dynamic dns service. Insure your ISP is not blocking port 80 inbound requests. My external ip is dynamic! Re: Configuring the webserver

You've added stuff to /etc/network/interfaces - take it out - it's not done that way with Raspbian Jessie. Static addresses are done in /etc/dhcpcd.conf with interface wlan0 static ip_address=192.168.3.14/24 static routers=192.168.3.1 static domain_name_servers=192.168.3.1 8.8.8.8 Nice move... Now ...

Can you help! Setting it up to listen only on a static eth0 ip? Even so, when typing the etho ip on a browser it should apper the website? or not? With wlan0 turned off when typing the eth0 ip it redirects to wlan0 ip and says that "takes to long to respond!"

any help? It sounds like you are running Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) on Windows 10? If you are using WSL, the ssh file you are trying to delete is on your Windows computer not on the Pi .
