No module named ImageTK

I am having trouble getting access to ImageTK, I get the error message
ImportError: No module named ImageTK

Googling the topic it seems I need to install python-imaging and python-imaging-tk which I have done, but still no luck.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Encoder Pulses

Hi joan, had a look through the post you linked to and it looks promising. However using both Python and C I used an interrupt, but could only manage to get the output to match the encoder input up to about 2kHz which is a lot slower than your mHz data! I will look into DMA, but do you have any hint...

Encoder Pulses

I am looking to replace a PLC and have been looking into using the raspberry pi. The idea is I need to track items as they move down a production line. As the items hits a trigger I need to keep track of encoder pulses, and after a certain number of pulses fire off some outputs to control certain bi...

Re: Running Tkinter as Root

Thanks DeeJay I really struggled finding an answer for this. A few minutes after posting in the forum I found your original post. I am about to try the Root Terminal method, however there must be a proper way to do this.

Running Tkinter as Root

Hi, I am trying to run a Python program which has a GUI I have written to interact with the GPIO. The GUI runs ok but when I run it as Root i.e. sudo python nameofprogram.py I get an error message stating that Client is not authorized to connet to ServerTraceback (most recent call last) ... ... ... ...

Re: How to log into fresh Raspbian install without display?

Hi Kramer,

I have a blog post which explains how to log into your Raspberry Pi using ssh. There is a link on there to another post which lets you find the IP address of your Raspberry Pi remotely also.

Hope that helps,

Trevor

I just hope I can help. The purpose of my blogs is to pass on some of the knowledge I have picked up in the last year. If there are any topics you would like me to cover in my blogs let me know and I will see what I can do. Nothing is too trivial!

Hello, I have written a blog post on how to remotely find your raspberry Pi IP address. http://trevorappleton.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/remotely-find-raspberry-pi-ip-address.html and a second one explaining how to SSH into your raspberry Pi from a remote computer. SSH is activated by default. http://tr...

It turns out there is a very easy solution.

localhost/mediawiki doesn't work with the web browser Dillo but does with the web browser Midori!

mediawiki on raspbian

Hello, I have been struggling to install mediawiki, and have googled extensively, but to no avail! I get as far as going to localhost/mediawiki which starts the mediawiki configuration. The first thing to note is on the front screen it says LocalSettings.php not found. However I assume this is not a...

Re: Launching apps remotely

Thanks for the reply. I currently start VNCserver from the terminal as I SSH into the raspberry PI. When you say I should start it from X session do you mean from the session running on the raspberry pi rather than from the terminal I ssh into? So to do this I would need to hook a keyboard up to the...

Control via laptop but show output on TV?

Hi,

I have my Raspberry Pi set up and can SSH into it and also log in via VNC. However I don't have a spare keyboard, so would like to VNC into the Raspberry Pi but control what is shown on the TV remotely from my laptop.

Is this something that is possible?

Re: Red LED on Faint Green LED

I had a similar issue with the Red LED on and a dim Green LED. However this was resolved with changing the power supply. I also have the issue of the unit locking up after a few minutes. The screen starts to flicker and then the unit goes dead. I have checked the heat of the components, but they are...

Re: Red LED on Faint Green LED

I had a similar issue with the Red LED on and the Green LED Faint. However using a different power source fixed that issue. However I am having the problem of my Raspi cutting out after a few minutes use. Without anything other than an HDMI lead, SD Card and Power Lead in after a few minutes the scr...
