Re: google assistant cant recive audio input

Do you have any audio input devices ?

Code: Select all

alsa -l
or

Code: Select all

alsa -L
Should list them.

If not, you should consider getting an audio add on card with input and possibly micrphone.
There is a non-comprehensive list here.

Re: 2 headphones

Some sound card add ons which have headphone amps would suit you connecting two headphones in parallel. Headphone amplifiers are normally designed to accept headphones of varying impedance and still give a good power output. There are some add on sound cards on this list which would do the job. Matt

Re: 4 Channel Amp

Hi,

If this amp supports half the impedance you have, it is probably ok to plug two speakers in parallel on both channels out !

Alternatively, you can go to 8 speakers !
Connect two in series. Connect both series pairs in parallel, now you have the same impedance.

Best of luck.

Re: Tutorial 3 - Programming GTK GUIs using gtkIOStream

Yep - you can use a Frame for that (Frame.H file).
For example :

Code: Select all

Frame frame("title for this frame");
Will create the object and it is a Container so you can load widgets into that as you normally would using the "<<" operator and unload using the ">>" operator.

Re: A new paradigm in multichannel audio is coming to the Pi

Hi KTB, Thanks for pledging ! The TRS boards are for professional grade sound quality. They are balanced and powered. What this means is that they have active filters which keep distortion low. Because they are balanced, they are able to keep noise very low. This means that if you require profession...

Re: outputting printf only to STDOUT

It isn't clear to me how this "tc" system works.

Assuming that "TC" writes everything which is written to stdout over the serial port ... then perhaps you can write printf statements to stderr. Again, assuming that stderr isn't being written to the serial port.

Re: Tutorial 6 - Programming GTK GUIs using gtkIOStream

With C++ classes you can inherit GUI objects which can simplify stuff like not having to re-implement things which already exist. In this tutorial, the C++ class will implement some button callbacks. Almost all of the code/work will shift from the main loop and into a C++ class. Lets begin by saving...

Tutorial 6 - Programming GTK GUIs using gtkIOStream

Hi again, gtkIOStream is a set of C++ headers which enable you to make GTK GUI programs in a very trivial manner. OK - best of luck ! By the way, I wasn't talking about audio, I was talking about controlling ! The ADCs and DACs on sound cards will give you between 16 and 32bits of dynamic range control. If you do the mods I mentioned to the sound cards, then you will remove all filtering and be able to go down ...
