MaxK1 wrote:is it fully up to date?

I still think this is a power related issue.
It is a Raspberry Pi 3 model B, with Raspbian Jessie (2016-09-23) and the latest firmware

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Start

Anything connected to either the GPIO header or the "run" (reset) pads? (stray spikes from an IKEA desk lamp being turned on or off cause one of my Pi3 to crash. Moving the desk lamp away from the Pi cures that.) Is anything on the board too hot to touch after a few seconds? What else is connected ...

MaxK1 wrote:How much free space on the card?
Probably 12 GBs

I tried to boot using a different SDcard this morning, but I get the same error (shuts down on it's own, ACT light didn't blink, PWR light stays on and cannot boot)

Also, the problem might not be with the power supply

MaxK1 wrote:Wired or wifi connection?

Right now my gut is saying power problem, but just to cover more bases: Does the system have enough space on the SD card?
What about memory split?
WiFi.
I have a 16 GB microSDCard.
Shared 64 mb memory for GPU

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Start

How are you powering the Pi? Any chance the power connector is a bit loose? What PSU are you using? Are you over-clocking? What is connected to it besides keyboard/mouse and the HDMI display? Where were you on the night of the 5th between 8 and 10.... Sorry - too many TV crime shows :) Anything on ...

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Start

Okay, it has happened again
I was using my raspberry pi (trying to install composer) and suddenly it seems to have "shut down"
I have to unplug the power supply (which means possibly corrupting the SD...) and plug it back again, and the ACT light won't turn on

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Start

Ah, so I've been mixing the PWR and the ACT led this whole time :P ... Just to clarify (if the above was true) - how, exactly, have you been shutting down? After either using a "GUI button/Menu command" from the Desktop, or using (something like) sudo shutdown -h now within a terminal, SSH login sh...

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Start

Ah, so I've been mixing the PWR and the ACT led this whole time :P I have tried to rewrite the SDCard with a new image of Raspbian, it works, but only for a few days Recently, it seems to have shut down on it's own, there's nothing on the display but the red PWR and the green ACT light is on The mou...

Raspberry Pi Won't Start

yes, I have read the Sticky but it didn't give me much help about my issue My Raspberry Pi 3 model B has been used for quite a while. But yesterday, while I was using the Raspberry Pi, it turned off on it's own. I thought there was something wrong with the HDMI cable but the cable is plugged in cor...
