Re: Arduino_IDE-1.6.7/github on the Raspberry Pi

Yay have got it working rather than use the 'Linux 32bit Distribution' I tried the https://www.arduino.cc/download.php?f=/arduino-nightly-linuxarm.tar.xz version and this installs fine. Mildly concerned that I am using a something described as 'experimental' but best not to worry about that ... ;) N...

Re: Arduino_IDE-1.6.7/github on the Raspberry Pi

Sadly that is what I downloaded, my guess it is something really basic [ for instance does it matter where you put the files ....] as my linux knowledge is very limited

Re: Arduino_IDE-1.6.7/github on the Raspberry Pi

Probably me just being thick but having extracted the stuff from the tar I double click on install.sh, the IDE icon shows up on the desktop fine, with no errors being reported. But when I double click on the new IDE the Pi has a think about things for about 20second then nothing happens .... I am ru...

Re: You guys never talk about Time Lapse assembly software!

I agree - We have ended up just getting the stills on to a PC then using microsoft movie maker which is ok but does still get grumpy when try to import a lot of big stills. It would be good to be able to do it all easily on a pi - I'm not sure if the 'official' worksheet has been updated, but last t...

Re: update problem

I had the same problem on Saturday, ignored it ran upgrade and ended up with a dead system - just the green led flashing a few times in sequence. I did not spend time investigating just reformatted and installed the lasted Jessie. Probably also had it on another Pi a couple of weeks ago but there we...

The Tempus Fugit WordClock, Kickstarter

Having had a lot of interest in my WordClock Chrismas Project, I have now launched it on Kickstarter as the Tempus Fugit WordClock. The most important development from the initial version is that you will be able to use the TF board with a PiZero or Arduino Nano. So if you are struggling to find a Z...

Looks like this is a known problem - suggestion is to iceweasel for the moment - 'use sudo apt-get install iceweasel' to install

Thanks to Simon Long for coming back quickly on this

Node-RED - Epiphany Problem

I have struggled for the last couple of days trying to edit templates and functions using Epiphany, tried this morning connecting to the pi with Chrome on a PC connected to the same network and all was fine. This is not great for an educational scenario where you want to do everything on the Pi.

Pi-LCD Kickstarter Finishes Monday

My Pi-LCD Kickstarter is still running until early Monday morning, check it out at - http://kck.st/1NuZvbP . I have refined the PCB to bring down the LCD module stand-off height and have also now been able to test the design with and Adafruit RGB display extending the range of display supported. We ...

Re: PCB Board Layout/Design Software

I would certainly give Eagle a try - as the part libraries on the web are very extensive. Worth looking at https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Eagle-Library and specifically you should find the following part in there - PINHD-2x20 When it comes to getting your PCB made have a look at Ragworm http:/...

New LCD board for the Pi launched on Kickstarter

Pi-LCD is a low cost add-on board for the Raspberry Pi that allows most common 16×2 LCD modules, including the newer full colour RGB backlit variants to be easily connected to a Raspberry Pi. The backlight drives are fully buffered from the 5V rail to ensure the GPIO lines are not over-driven and us...
