I have 3 B .
The B + would not play much at all without choking .
Same noise .

Would you try the following ? :

1) boot up Raspbian

2) listen to something (mp3 or ?) at a decent level

3) goto ........ >menu .....>programming .....>sonic pi

4) listen

I've thought of that but am afraid that
(might not?) help ..... and would be
wasted money. The normal audio
(mp3 et al) is (for me) fine .... Just the
Sonic Pi (could be in the software ?)

My main interest is running Sonic Pi. So far the Raspberry Pi does the best job. (On Windows it degrades over time) (The installation on Linux appears beyond me) However there is one problem on the Pi. When Sonic Pi starts it is VERY noisy. (As if you can hear the workings of the system) The Pi play...

Got the time set.....
(had to use the terminal(not my forte))
I cannot get the 'setup' to work for time.
That did, in fact, enable the websites I was
not getting ......

FWIW ............. Got Quirky on x_86 machine
NONE of the issues as RPi
Utubes even stream :)
I think I may have read that the Pi hardware
itself can't quite do video ?

Seems a problem with the clock ?
It's off plus the times don't match the timezones :)
I'm not goin to worry about it now.
I want to get the x_86 (8.0?)version going on my other
system (via usb) but no luck so far ....

I've downloaded this :

The RPi extracts it , but I can't figure out how to install it
(hopefully from GUI)

I just got a Pi 3 . ( up from B+ ) Worked fine with Raspbarian . Couldn't find a media player app , so tried OSMC (separate SD). OSMC booted fine , but didn't fit my purpose . After that Raspbarian would not boot ! ( nor PICO nor RISCOS ) Looked here under ' bricked ' which advised reflash SD . Done...

screen size ......

......I'm trying out RISC on Pi with 7" composite monitor.
When it boots up everything is so small, I can't see
to get to the settings. When I read the config.text
(on Windows PC) I see nothing about screen size
or resolution........????????
