Re: I've got some problems after new update!

I found another problem! I installed the new programs, Geany and sd-card copier and they aren't showing up in the menu (the one in the top right corner). They aren't showing up in the applications menu (the one found in the file manager on the left hand). I know there installed though cause I found...

Re: Minimum requirements?

just purchased my raspberry pi 3 model b version 1.2 and cannot get pass the red led light
The red LED is always there, and always on if the Pi3 has power to it. When it flashes or blinks...then that means you have a problem.

Re: 13th May 2016 Changes to the Raspbian Jessie Desktop

Dom explained in the very post you're linking to - this didn't come to our attention fast enough to be added in this round, but a fix will be added to the next update. Thank you for your help, and well done for the spot; but understand that it's a very short time since you raised that bug, and rele...

Re: 13th May 2016 Changes to the Raspbian Jessie Desktop

Just out of curiosity, why did the foundation release this new image with the existing "uart interrupt bug" that severely impacts Pi performance? (nearly an order of magnitude more interrupts per second and context switches per second in 4.4.9 compared to 4.1) For those who have no clue what that me...

There will be an apt-get update in a few days.
Is 'rpi-update' an option to get it now for the new image? Or will that break things?

Re: Raspbian Jessie linux 4.4.9 Severe Performance Degradati

So does this mean that the BT is causing the degradation? No, not BT directly. There are two uarts, either one can be used by BT, and the other can be used for serial output. I think the problem is with an unused uart is being left with an interrupt asserted but no interrupt handler to clear it (bu...

Mine worked like a charm after I moved it to a front usb port. Like i said, if it misbehaves, it misbehaves, and if you have to set that in cmdline, then it is misbehaving.

it's a LogiLink mouse/keyboard which is not so extremely bad quality. But if you also had that experience, then it IS supposed to be a known issue, isn't it? ;) Doesn't matter. Mine is a $40 Microsoft 3500 series wireless. Misbehaving is misbehaving. Quality has nothing to do with it See the link a...

Re: new Raspbian version 2016-05-10

About the mouse settings there is IMO still 1 issue nevertheless: Although I can adjust the mouse speed, to prevent from a bad lag time for my wireless mouse I still have to manually patch /boot/cmdline.txt by adding usbhid.mousepoll=0 at the end. That feature would be really appreciated also to ha...

Re: 13th May 2016 Changes to the Raspbian Jessie Desktop

I tried ala carte for the new features, and I couldnt get BT, so just bit the bullet and did the dist-upgrade. I think my issues might have been because of going from the 4.4.9 rpi-update, to the dist-upgrade...I think it may have broken things. After restoring 4.1.13, menu/run functions like it sho...

Re: Add a Fan to the Pi

Hey Guys, i own the raspberry pi 3 model b and i wanted to add a 5V fan too. But the GPIOs have 50mA current limit which is not good for a 150mA cheap unreliable fan, like I have. So, I just downloaded reduced schematic for pi3b, and there are some points on the pcb from PP1 to PP6, which are direc...

Found some issues already... in the dist-upgrade :? perhaps it is just me though. 1. paired BT audo iconcepts speaker, problem is it wants you to "use audio menu to connect to device". There is no audio menu. I assume it is referring to pulse audio, but there is nothing for that in the menu. Prefer...

The dist-upgrade broke everything (nearly all customizations) , The UI customizations, keybindings, settings on menu/panel items, etc There's no nice way of updating some things without overwriting some things. You should have seen a message which tells you where your old files were backed up so th...

hmmm: The dist-upgrade broke everything (nearly all customizations) , The UI customizations, keybindings, settings on menu/panel items, etc I had to revert back to 4.1.13 to do the dist-upgrade, as I think the rpi-update i was on, made things break a bit more (like menu/Run).
