There is a howto for using the GPIO and 5V for controlling a fan based on thermals. It was used for a case with a built in 3v fan...but I am sure I can be modified. Just googling for it. https://github.com/andrewkarch/Eleduino-Fan-Controller
lol  roflmao Your first mistake was going with a Pi2. Should have got a Pi3 instead (twice as fast, with built in wifi and bt). You can turn the $35 Pi3 into an awesome little powerhouse PC, that will rival most of the $200 tablets on the market in terms of performance... It is slick with Chrom...
In my case, it usually means it is not available for whatever reason. Not everything you try to watch (especially on Kodi/Navi) actually works. Some of it is years old, and dead.
Configure the built in lxde screensaver, lock screen, and monitor (actually turn offs, not screen blanking) power save features via lightlocker which uses the Jessie login screen. This also allows you to use the keyboard shortcut to screenlock: Instructional youtube video: https://youtu.be/aTrp83lg...
LXDE in Debian/Raspbian has its own ability to setup lockscreen, turn off the monitor, and put it into a true "power save" mode (not screen blanking), etc. You just have to enable it is all (or simply disable it all if that is your preference). Click here to setup lockscreen, put monitor into a true...
Did you turn it on, and reset gpu mem, and download the utilities? sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get install mesa-utils Then; Advanced options/GL Driver/Enable sudo rasp-config Finally after reboot, gpu mem will be 64, set it to something like 128 - 190 ( don't go any higher than...
It's £190 in the UK... $274 :/ Personally, I would never spend that much on a pi-top. But there is a sucker born every minute who will think it is a good deal. You can buy a real hybrid 2-in-1 for less, (and install your OS of choice, if say linux is your flavor). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...
Perhaps the dir you are trying to save the torrent to is read only? You might want to provide more info (it is hard to read your mind ) Provide the received error...?
The Pi is a consumer product. As such around here, Scandinavia, it is subject to a two year warranty. That's not to say it won't fail in that time but the store you buy it from has to replace it or refund. All bets are off for purchases over the internet. Not like that here in the US... store retur...
The thing throttles back at about 62 degrees and maxed out at about 78 degrees I am confused by this...Did you set the threshold lower? or are you on a cpu governor other than 'ondemand'? Because the Pi3 should not start to throttle back until it hits 80C. This may otherwise indicate a power/ volta...
sorry! forgot to add the link... whoops https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13024&p=137550 also, I can move things from raspberry pi to my windows computer. However I cant delete or add stuff on the raspberry pi Thanks If trying to do it from Windows, You need to change permissions f...
I agree. Seems I was not quick enough off the mark yanking the power when I noticed it had locked up. We are talking seconds here. There is no rebooting. Nothing is responsive. Only cutting the power. Surely this is a bug. Either the SoC's temperature monitoring and throttling is not working. Or th...
...So, who would then expect a piece of software to cause permanent damage? The software won't damage the Pi/SoC....The Pi3 is enabled for NEON (which i think is what Linpack bench uses? I know Cpuburn-a53 does). (e.g., "features: ...neon") pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 model n...
Rive, Go ahead, break it to me, I can handle it. You haven't actually said anything there. I'm confused. I did not make any comment about power consumption, only voltages. Sure that document may be out of date. If you can link us to anything newer that says differently that would be great. As it st...
Now it looks as if I have burned my Pi. xhpl only ever hangs the whole system now. I have not done any over clocking or over volting. I can't find a heat sink immediately. What to do? Also, to stop the benchmark from crashing or failing try adding this (if your power supply will allow it) /config.t...
So hard to find non-misleading information on the forum.... The ARM/GPU core runs at 1.2 volts. Unless you tweek over_voltage. See here: http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#Overclocking_options So I seriously don't believe plus or minus 0.1 volts on the 5v supply makes a jot of difference. It may make issu...
You probably broke something. Are you using an HDTV/HDMI Monitor w/ built in for sound? or are you using the audio jack (analog)? First mistake rpi-update Second mistake (IMHO) dist-upgrade Better off sticking with this only (and doing it every week or so, or as needed): sudo apt-get update sudo apt...
Is there anyway of contacting the Raspian team to give us the information to turn screensaver off ? I'm also interested to disable the screen saver completely, once and forever. But reading through this topic I don't understand anything about how to do it now - perhaps the solution is just obscured...
... A Pi3 needs at least 5.1v (I use 5.25V), ... I don't believe that. Have you any evidence? 1: would you, or someone, mind please telling me exactly what is involved in renaming the "trash" folder? 2: thanks so much for the link, but I'm not sure which part explains where how you changed the start buttons/themes? 1. see: http://askubuntu.com/questions/240431/is-there-a-way-i-can-rename-tr...
