How to publish project on Github

Hi all Im still learning to use my Raspberry Pi, but have at least completed my first "big" project to measure temperature and have LEDs light up based on what the reading was. I would like to share it and people seem to use github a lot, but it seems to require some interface as I simply cant post ...

Re: Easy project

That worked! Thanks - I must have missed that in the review of the code :( So now I can pull data and write it. I already have the code to act differently within certain temperatures and I just need to add the GPIO code to make the LEDs light up: import time while 1: tempfile = open("/sys/bus/w1/dev...

Re: Easy project

Thanks - good idea. It gave me this text, so it does contain data, but I am not sure where the code then breaks as I am not familiar with the "split" function pi@raspberrypi:~/MyCode $ sudo python temperature3.py 6c 01 4b 46 7f ff 04 10 5d : crc=5d YES 6c 01 4b 46 7f ff 04 10 5d t=22750 Traceback (m...

Re: Easy project

OK, so I got it all setup. The Pi can see the deviced and I can read data from it, but in the code example I used, it comes up with this error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "temperature3.py", line 7, in <module> tempdata = thetext.split("/n")[1].split(" ")[9] IndexError: list index out of...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi

OK, that made the difference! I can confirm for me using channel 13 did NOT work with the RPi.

Next step is to reintroduce the hidden SSID.

Yes, did set the country and have updated/upgraded...
I'll try and set the channel to automatic

Re: Wireless humidity sensor for cigarbox

Hi

I'm not sure how to use that. Could you elaborate please ? :)

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi

I use mixed, or rather the network is not setup to 5ghz exclusively.

However, the network is set to use channel 13 and is that used only for the 5ghz network?

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi

I tried that already and it didnt work.

I have now enabled SSID broadcasting on the router and the PI can see other wifi networks, but still not mine :(

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi

I tried using My cellphone as hotspot and that added the authentication to the file. I then changed it to my home network with hidden ssid.

Unfortunately it didn't work.
Iv tried many other configurations but no luck yet.

Any other good ideas??

Re: Easy project

OK, so I tried to find the different components in Denmark, but the PI Cobbler and cable is not available.

How would this setup look with that and simply "just" the breadboard and wires and components? (I can get those)

Easy project

So as another start project I was think of making a water proof temperature gauge for brewing beer. So, I was thinking of using this : http://www.reuk.co.uk/DS18B20-Temperature-Sensor-with-Raspberry-Pi.htm But with a waterproof sensor like this : http://www.etotal.dk/product/temperatursensor-ds18b20...

Wireless humidity sensor for cigarbox

Hi all I am brand new to this whole thing and have been researching for a week to get an idea for an initial project I could start with that would suit a need I have. Sensing seems to be a good place to start as there are multiple projects to choose from and I have a humidor with a broken humidity s...
