Re: Pi 3 as wiireless client and wireless AP?

Hi all. Thanks for all the info. It has helped a lot. I do have a question. I need to run the pi with a AP and client wifi link. If there is a wifi network the client link of the Pi will be used to connect to the network and all users will connect to the same network and interact with the web interf...

Re: 7" pi touch screen and VNC

Aaaa thanks so much. The screen saver fixed the problem. It even goes blank while connected with VNC. So all sorted now. Thanks so much.

Re: Serial Port stoped working after I did a upgrade

Hi. You hit the nail on the head. I copied an old UDEV rules file to the new PI that did not have the kernel part in it. I copied a new file and now all is working again.

Serial Port stoped working after I did a upgrade

Hi all. I have a bunch of Pi's we use to control a lot of things. I interface with a polulu motor controller via USB. It then creates a virtual serial port that I map using UDEV Rules. I then have a Python program that interfaces with the controller. All of this worked 100% on 10 pi's. Now I am sett...

7" pi touch screen and VNC

Hi all. I did post this question on GID and was told it is not n OS problem I have tompost it here. If we use VNC to remote control the Pi. Then the screen will at random go back to sleep / screen saver mode after disconnecting. So sometime the screen will stay on all the time and only if you touch ...

Re: Screen off when power is lost to the screen (and restore

No, there is a converter chip on the display controller board that is configured by the Pi via I2C as the Pi boots. If you power down the display and controller then nothing reprogrammes that chip and the display doesn't come back. It's not designed as a hot pluggable display. I guess seeing as the...

Re: Screen off when power is lost to the screen (and restore

This is another one of those threads where the word 'screen' is ambiguous. I assumed screen meant HDMI screen. And, as has been noted many times, most people (including me) are not aware of what "sub-forum" something is posted in. I now see that there is actually an "Official Display" sub-forum. I ...

Re: Screen off when power is lost to the screen (and restore

Hi all. Is there no way to get it back ? I use the screen in a control system and all works very well. But on one of the units we are testing we have a mechanical relay and when the relay turns off it will make a EMI spike at random and the screen will flicker. At random the screen will turn off and...

Screen off when power is lost to the screen (and restored).

Hi all. Is there a way to get the screen back if the power is lost to the screen for some reason ?
Lets say the power to the screen goes off and then is restored. The screen will stay off / black.
The only way I can get it back on is to ssh / vnc into the pi and do a reboot.

What I found works is you copy the nightly build from the Arduino site. That works 100%.

2 Wifi adapters

Hi all. I use the Pi all over the place. I have the on-board wifi and because it is low power we add a long range wifi dongle as well. But the 2 adapters will randomly be wlan0 and wlan1 . I need it to always be the same wlan. So lets say the long range should always be wlan0 and the on-board should...

Re: Minimalmodbus

Hi all.

I got it working for those who ever have this problem.

I had to force the modbus mode to 6.

Code: Select all

vsd.write_register(1 , 500 , 0 , functioncode = 6)
Then all work 100%.

Re: Minimalmodbus

OK I manage to get the code working. But there is now one part I dont get as it is not working. If I want to start the VSD I send it this command vsd.write_register(0x2000 , 0x0002 , 0) But if I want to set the speed I have to send 2 bytes, one x27 and the next x01 but the lib only wants 1 value. vs...

Minimalmodbus [Solved]

Hi all. I need to communicate with a VSD from the Pi. I can set the values from the software that comes with the VSD on Windows. I am using a USB to RS-485 converter. So I know all it working on the VSD and converter. The Pi also sees the Converter when I plug it in and I can set its values with the...

7" Screen and Pi Power Question

Hi all. I am not sure where to post this question so please move it to the correct section. I am using the 7" touch screen on the Raspberry Pi 3. If I power the screen and the Pi with its own power supply then all is fine and the Pi's red LED stays on and the rainbow block is not on the screen. But ...

Arduino Yun Library

Hi all. I am new here and this is my first post. I am not 100% sure where to post this. I think it is something on the OS level so I chose to post it here. Moderators please move it to the correct place if it does not belong here. I am developing a controller to control a industrial type process. I ...
