Hi, I want to connect a Lipo battery to my raspberry pi. PiGRRL Pocket question resistors

Hi,

quick question.
Trying to build something similar to the PiGRRL Pocket.
Why dont they use Resistors when connecting the Button Switches?

i thought switches require pull down resistors?
