Re-installing AIY without burning SD-card again?

After the desktop-trouble, before I learned the way to repair it, I tinkered a lot around and broke some stuff, because now my microphone doesn't work anymore (software-error). Updating the AIY or Raspbian didn't help. So worst case, I will have to burn the SD-card again. Since I already configured ...

Re: Desktop Preferences reset after reboot

Thank you, I will try that to be sure!

I found the answer, in the AIY index on this forum: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... 4&t=182321.

Apparently it's an error with the AIY-Raspian-image or the update.

Thanks!

Re: Wallpaper change locked?

Great! Thank you!

That worked, but I can't select to show mounted volumes and I can't change the wallpaper. Is this normal?

Re: Wallpaper change locked?

I had the same problem since updating AIY. Not only the desktop-picture, also my preferences for showing mounted volumes didn't stick. I assumed it was a permissions-problem, but I didn't know which files were involved. I sudo pcpacmanfm-ed and changed the permissions of a number of files to "everyb...

Desktop Preferences reset after reboot

Hi, I'm using a AIY-image of Raspbian, I updated, upgraded and RPI-updated a few times. After trouble with the AIY-part, I did an update of that, which worked. But now I change my desktop-picture and set it to show mounted volumes and when I reboot, I have a black desktop (images seen to be forgotte...

AIY-box "broke" since adding shutdown-command

Hi, I tried adding the commands mentioned here: http://ktinkerer.co.uk/adding-reboot-shutdown-commands-raspberry-pi-aiy-projects-google-assistant/ to shut down my Raspberry Pi with Voice Hat. That didn't work, and AIY became non-responsive. I deleted the lines of code and everything worked again. Af...

Re: Which music player for HifiBerry?

Ah! That's great :-)

I now installed RuneAudio and I'm happy with it. I believe for Volumio you have to pay for some functionalities, isn't it? I'll try Volumio later!

EDIT: Volumio is as free as RuneAudio. MoOde is about 10 € for the program.

Re: Which music player for HifiBerry?

For future reference: -Volumio and RuneAudio don't work well with Kodi (so for me, it's not practical: I would have switch SD cards to watch TV or listen to music). -Volumio has no iPad app and the iPhone app requires iOS 10 (since I'm using an old iPhone 4s, I'm not going to install 10). There is a...

Re: Permission denied to media folder

You never know, if the OP had the trouble, maybe he found a solution and still gets a notification that there's a response to his topic :-) But I have to admit, it's a long shot. I tried to use mpd, but don't want it anymore. I'm looking for a music player to use my raspberry as music station. I'm l...

Which music player for HifiBerry?

Hello, I ordered a HifiBerry DAC Pro to use with my Raspberry Pi 3 and Mackie Active speakers . I use the same Raspberry for Kodi ( LibreELEC ). I'm unsure what program to use to play my music. I googled and read a lot, and instead of understanding more what suits me best, I keep finding more option...

If you don't use an OpenGL waveview and an external USB soundcard, it works.

Re: Menu trouble

Thanks.

It was

Code: Select all

rm ~/.config/menus/lxde-applications.menu
but it didn't help.

I think I removed a web-icon (because sometimes epiphany is called web and I was a little too eager to remove it, I removed one "web" too many).

Menu trouble

Hi, I had epiphany and k3b installed and removed them with -purge --auto-remove. But the menu items kept comming up. So I deleted the usr/share/application and raspberry-ui-override/application files. I also searched for k3b and epiphany with catfish and removed everything I could find. But the menu...

Re: Portable DJ rig

In preferences you have something called "Interface" > "Skin". I think there's "GL" mentioned in the skins using openGL. I think "Deere" is just fine. (I'm not at home for the moment, I can't look it up). The sound-trouble, I don't know how to solve that. Sometimes removing PulseAudio seems to help,...

Cannon enable VNC

Hi, I try to enable VNC with the Raspberry Configuration Panel, but when I close and open again, it again to "off". I also tried the terminal "sudo raspi-config" and the advanced settings/VNC. Then the screen hangs at "The VNC Server is" and beneat "OK". Clicking OK goes back to the config-screen, a...

Is the difference between LXDE an Xsession only graphical?

When you log out, you can switch your desktop environment. I switched from the default xsession to LXDE.

What's the difference between the two? I only see graphical differences?

Re: Rpi3 - Raspbian Jessie - Blueman: wrong device name

You might be confusing the computer host name and the Bluetooth name. I don't think so. I was talking about the name given in the Blueman Applet, I would expect that to be the place for the Bluetooth-name? But thanks for the hint, I will look up the info in the files you named. Rpi3 - Raspbian Jessie - Blueman: wrong device name

Hi, I'm using Blueman/PulseAudio to connect to my Bluetooth speaker. That speaker (and other connected devices, like my smartphone) says my computer is ChromeLinux-7F80 , while in Blueman it's called raspberrypi . Where can I find that Chrome-name? I guess it's because I have Chromium installed, but...
