Re: Pi Zero + Camera Board = USB webcam gadget?

Has anybody gotten to work the uvc-gadget binary with a static Jpeg image? On a Mac? No, not even on Linux. Also tried the upstream repository: http://git.ideasonboard.org/uvc-gadget.git uvc-gadget -h Usage: ./build/uvc-gadget [options] <uvc device> Available options are -c device V4L2 source devic...

FYI, I took some more pictures of my good old rusty ruler (1mm) with several reverse mounted lenses 35mm_1mm.jpeg 35mm Pentax 16mm_1mm.jpeg 16mm Raspberry Pi lens 6mm_1mm.jpeg 6mm Raspberry Pi lens. No surprise, 6mm reversed is of no use,: ~1000px / .15mm. All done with a C-mount Pentax K-mount adap...

Re: Pi Zero + Camera Board = USB webcam gadget?

So the third question is, has someone been able to configure a Pi to work as both, an USB Ethernet device AND a UVC webcam device? Is there an inherent kernel/driver/USB spec limitation that would prevent a composite device like that from existing? Any suggestions or ideas welcome. If I can at leas...

Re: Macro photography with reversed lens technique

@HermannSW Thank you for your myriad detailed posts and answers on this forum, and elsewhere. Most helpful. If everybody took that care, we would live in a better world. :) I guess focus-stacking software is using more or less the same algorithm as FoM, although aligning is in macro photography a bi...

Thank you, I will take a look. Would be nice to hook it up in raspistill to specify the region for FoM

Re: New raspistill "Figure of Merit (FoM)" feature

Can the (great) FoM feature only be used for the center, or is it possible to specify regions?

The question was asked before by HermannSW, but I couldn't find an answer.

Re: Macro photography with reversed lens technique

@HermannSW I was planning to glue myself a spare C-CS mount on a 27-37 step-up ring so I can attach that to the 6mm lens for using that reversed, but both parts are still in transit. If the 0,2 µm/px is the maximum resolution, a remaining challenge is to get focus-stacking software in order to photo...

Re: Macro photography with reversed lens technique

With a reversed 16mm lens I get something like 2700 pixels per mm, so 0.037µm/px. Do you have a sample photo with that setup? Would be interesting to see how that looks like, because optical lenses cannot go below 0.2µm/px resolution: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_microscope#Limitations In ...

Re: Macro photography with reversed lens technique

Try reversing the lens, that's a big win for magnification, much more than extension tubes. Furthermore I don't think aluminum tubes are the right choice of material. To much reflection, you certainly need a coating. With a reversed 16mm lens I get something like 2700 pixels per mm, so 0.037µm/px 0....

How fine details can you capture clean? You can buy a 100 diversions per millimeter glass (diversions 10µm apart) for 7$: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33000797710.html This is what a v2 camera with long aluminum tube between imx219 sensor and 20° M12 lens can do: https://www.raspberrypi.org/foru...

I appreciate the comments but I'm not sure how this conversation became about ND. There are many filters other than ND. IR for example.
