Re: Startup script fails with (code=exited, status=203/EXEC)

that is well out of date, you need to use the systemd style startuo i.e. [from memory so not guaranteed to work] <snip> Thanks! I think the root of my problem (and my previous problem ) was a flakey SD card. Every time I rebooted the Pi, fsck ended up fixing a bunch of problems. Then, finally, thin...

What's your desired/target time from boot to image? That will help the knowledgable folks here (e.g. not me :D) determine whether your goals are realistic or not.

Re: Startup script fails with (code=exited, status=203/EXEC)

Thanks for all the suggestions! When I sudo reboot the Pi the script runs successfully about half the time, so it's entirely possible that it's trying to start before the network is fully up. But what I don't understand is why the loop doesn't try again. Here's the full contents of StreamToYouTube.s...

Startup script fails with (code=exited, status=203/EXEC)

Top Edit^2: Please mind. It's failing again. It worked once, on a reboot, but on a second reboot I got the original failure again. Top Edit: Never mind. I fixed this by putting #!/bin/bash at the top of my script. ///////////////// I want to run a script at startup, so that ffmpeg pulls video...

Re: Pi3 stuck with wrong DNS server and RO filesystem?

Get the broken SDCard in a USB reader, mount the USB reader in your RPi. Open a command window and run the following: sudo -i for i in a1 a2 do umount /dev/sd$i fsck -f -y /dev/sd$i done exit Shutdown, swap cards back and see what happens. Working! Thank you very much! So my ffmpeg script will now ...

Re: Pi3 stuck with wrong DNS server and RO filesystem?

Ah, I should clarify that this installation started with the PI Camera installation from script , and that script includes a bunch of operations to write-protect certain things. I thought I'd unprotected the correct things, but perhaps not. I did need to modify config.txt, and the following did work...

Pi3 stuck with wrong DNS server and RO filesystem?

I just fired up my Pi3 for the first time in awhile, and things are generally working as they were, except that it couldn't resolve any external hosts. I looked at /etc/resolv.conf, and it has an old DNS server (192.168.0.8) that no longer exists, from when the Pi was booted up in my office, with an...

Re: PHP/Bootstrap Web Interface for the Pi Camera

The CPU doesn't seem to be maxed out. I would have expected to for example see ffmpeg in the process list, but it's not in there. I haven't played with this since v1.6 in April, but I'm interested in starting up again. Can you explain why you'd expect to see ffmpeg in the process list? I wanted to ...

Re: PHP/Bootstrap Web Interface for the Pi Camera

I want to push the RTSP to my YouTube channel directly from the Pi instead of sending through an intermediate computer. Sounds like an interesting project. You have to try whether the raspberry is performant enough to do both. Even better would be if I could do it directly from the RTSP server with...

Success!!!

I now have ffmpeg running on my Pi, repackaging the camera stream and sending it to YouTube.

Thanks for the help!

Re: ./configure: Unable to create temporary file in /tmp

You could fix that with sudo chmod 1777 /tmp (the extra leading 1 sets the sticky bit/ restricted deletion bit - this stops people deleting files they don't own within the directory) I would also be a bit worried as to why /tmp has lost some of it's write access, is this something you've done based...

Re: ./configure: Unable to create temporary file in /tmp

Actually, the only reason I want to use ffmpeg is to repackage the h.264 in a stream that YouTube can receive. I don't need to do any transcoding.

Are any of the compiled builds usable on Jessie Lite?

I have followed these step-by-step instructions, plus the corrections , minus the read-only fs changes, to set up the PHP/Bootstrap Web Interface for the Pi Camera.
