Re: Low latency wifi stream possible?

what hardware and software are you using on the receiving end? I don't think anyone who has been reporting 200 or 100 msec latency has been using VLC as a viewer. I was using nc with a windows 7 pro PC over the cable network (Ethernet). That gave me about 1.5 - 3.0 second delay. When I use vlc, I e...

Re: Low latency wifi stream possible?

I really need <200ms delay for an application that I have for it. Back in April, JamesH claimed <100 msec delay in this post: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=32605&start=150#p336453 he was using netcat ("nc.traditional") to send the raspivid output to mplayer on a remote linu...

Re: Low latency wifi stream possible?

I have been having the same issue with latency when trying to stream over either wifi or Ethernet. I get about a 5 second delay on wifi when using this command (using vlc): raspivid -o - -t 0 |cvlc -vvv stream:///dev/stdin --sout '#rtp{sdp=rtsp://:8554/}' :demux=h264 I really need <200ms delay for a...

Re: RPi Camera Python Module

probably a hardware problem, do you have pull up resistors on the gpio pins? the behaviour is typical of floating gpio inputs pete You are correct! FLOATING gpio pins caused the problem. add a bit of alex's code from the gb-rg example: for i in range(23,26): GPIO.setup(i, GPIO.IN, pull_up_down=GPIO...

Think I have worked it out!

The buttons are always HIGH until the button is pressed.

So the Button Drives the GPIO pin low. I will test this.

Re: Using VLC to stream from the camera - Help needed

I was able to stream 720 pretty much flawless, 1080p had issues being stable, not sure why. Is there a way to test the speed of the Pi's bandwidth Saw this post and decided to investigate: http://linuxaria.com/article/tool-command-line-bandwidth-linux?lang=en YES, there is a way to test the Pi's ba...

Just recently, i needed to downclock to 1100 because in arizona, the heat in my room is so much that my cooling system isn't powerful enough. i placed my pi inside a desktop psu case and powered the fan from another wall adapter. Re: Overclocking

Their gpu_freq isn't suspicious at all to me. with an overvolt of 6, mine can hit 565. With 8 I can do over 600, tested with quake3. Any higher causes artifacts, so I know it's working. But the highest arm clock I've ever seen here is 1300 with an 8 overvolt. I can hit 1225 with an 8 overvolt, but ...

Re: RPi not booting after Update

Just had the same problem expressed in this topic.

I did a rpi-update and now my RPi won't boot.

I am about to copy files back over now (as partitioning is OK) and see if I can get it to boot.

Re: Overclocking

No way! GPU frequencies and Arm run off the overvolatge and to get 550!!GPU and 1400!!Arm from a paltry 6 over volts (1.35 volts). You should be atleast using current_limit_override=0x5A000020. Its either a troll or I'm impressed. Are you running of a USB3? I find it amusing some wanting or claimin...

Re: I never knew that people were flipping Pi camera's that

The question should be why they got to sell 196 not why they are selling 4 at 999.99 pounds. I though you could only buy one at a time when they were first released, from only RS and E14.

Take a picture! Then compare that image with video footage of the same scene: a still with the latest fixes has a wider field of view than the video; with the original software, it had a narrower field of view. If you take a picture with preview on then you will notice a big change in FOV at the po...
