Raspbian Jessie static ip address / network name

Hi. I have defined my static ip following this tutorial: https://nebulousthinking.wordpress.com/2016/02/25/setting-a-static-ip-for-raspbian-jessie-in-2016/. Everything seems to work. When I do a nmap scan on my network, the Pi shows with the name computer.home in the ip that I have defined. Can anyo...

Re: Using Pi as a all-around server

Hi, I'm new to Pi. I've read some tutorials on the web on how to build a home server, a web server and a cloud server on the Pi. What I'm asking is if it's possible to do the 3 in one. Having a home server for file sharing, streaming and backups, a web server for hosting a simple personal website a...

Re: RPi 2 + PiTFT + Battery Pack + cooling fan + 3D printed

I'm still looking for batteries. I see a lot of Li-Poli but almost none like the Li-ion from adafruit. In the meantime I'm having another problem. I've installed my PiTFT following adafruit tutorial. After that I find that it's almost impossible to navigate in my Kali UI. Everything is huge and off...

Re: RPi 2 + PiTFT + Battery Pack + cooling fan + 3D printed

Same as with a power bank, unconnected, the Pi will run from the battery. Connected, it still runs from the battery, which is being charged. The PowerBoost allows 'hot swapping'; not all power banks do. The PowerBoost also allows monitoring the battery voltage, if you want to get fancy. Power banks...

Re: RPi 2 + PiTFT + Battery Pack + cooling fan + 3D printed

Don't bother with the fan, unless the battery pack needs cooling. The Pi doesn't need a fan or heatsinks. Still doesn't need a fan. If you use the naked battery, you'll also need boosting and charging circuitry. Adafruit has a PowerBoost 1000. This option might be more flexible, size- and placement...

RPi 2 + PiTFT + Battery Pack + cooling fan + 3D printed case

Hi, I'm new to Raspberry Pi and I'm already running my Kali Linux build in my RPi2. Yesterday I received my PiTFT screen from adafruit and I'm going to mount it today. What I'm aiming to do is to build a fully portable pen testing station that contains my RPi2, the adafruit PiTFT, a cooling fan for ...
