Re: OpenELEC Testbuilds

Trying out arm_freq=900 with the latest build (r11290). Looks good so far. Snappier, until I load several thumbs in a row. Haven't tried dolby/dts passthrough as yet. Also, the issues with python being in the wrong directory whilst building were fixed one or two builds ago, which is nice. One proble...

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

1) Looks like the Python nonsense was fixed yesterday or Sunday, which is good news.
2) Looks like pictures no longer show up scrambled on latest build.
3) I dunno about passthrough; haven't tried it yet.

Re: SD Card performance in R-Pi onboard slot

This resulted in a regression in speed for me (Transcend 8GB Class 10). Even without doing any measurements it's obvious something is wrong when archlinux takes over a minute to boot. I tried using smaller numbers for init_mmc_clock but that just made things worse... kernel: Linux alarmpi 3.1.9-12+ ...

Re: Best route to XBMC on Pi

Everyone: this is alpha software. It's fine to complain about issues once you try either package, but you have to accept and expect that they will be there. There are two separate projects here - the minimal OSes that are Raspbmc and OpenELEC, and the xmbc-rbp fork of xbmc. afaik sam (raspbmc) and s...

Re: microSD cards won't boot without jiggering power cable

I love how this thread has metamorphosed into a conversation about power supplies and USB ports that doesn't help me at all :) I noticed today that the SD card slot has been soldered on at a very slight angle on the right side; not sure if this is common or what. RMA would be terrible since this Pi ...

Re: Micro SDCARD and Adapter

MicroSD cards seem to be particularly troublesome with the Pi. Sometimes I find that they'll work, the next day the same ones won't, the next day jiggering the power cable a bit sort of 'jump starts' them. It's quite a mess...but doesn't matter that much in the scheme of things; I just invested in a...

so not sure if there have been some big changes There have been big changes, on both the xbmc and openelec sides, and in the kernel. You should definitely do as sraue said and copy the bootloader files. The way xbmc handles thumbnails and the xbmc videos database have both changed significantly sin...

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

Trying our r11211. Didn't try a fresh db scan or connect to my mysql db, just played a vid or two. CPU usage/stability during SD playback is very good now. CPU is something like 3-13% without interacting with the video; this jumps up to 30-40% by using the mouse to pause or access the menus. I call ...

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

You can fix this problem by executing this when you get this error(as said by others in this thread). Run it from the Openelec.tv folder cp build.OpenELEC-RPi.arm-devel/Python-2.7.3/.objdir-target/libpython2.7.so* build.OpenELEC-RPi.arm-devel/Python-2.7.3/.objdir-target/Modules/ So I just managed t...
