Re: Help test the next Debian image (wheezy)

I've only had chance to take a quick look so far, but it looks good. I like the new raspi-config much better than telling users they have to edit /boot/* files. I think it could do with a bit more work in future, but a great starting point. Would it be possible to include some text explanation withi...

Re: Hardware know-nothing looking for banana synth advice

Theoretically it may be possible, but it's not something that I would recommend. These are low power connections with no real protection to prevent damage to the Raspberry Pi: The following are taken from the Wiki: Extreme caution should be exercised when interfacing hardware at a low level, you may...

Re: Hardware know-nothing looking for banana synth advice

You are going to need some kind of hardware board for this, you can't just "plug a banana" into the Raspberry Pi as there is no native "Banana Driver for a Raspberry" - sorry couldn't resist the fruit based joke  I haven't used one, but as this is designed to work the propeller I suggest you st...

Re: USB Wireless Keyboard

Have you tried connecting it to a USB hub? If it works when connected to a USB hub, but not when directly connected to the Pi then it's likely that the Pi cannot supply sufficient power for the wireless transceiver. I have been able to use a wireless keyboard directly connected, but it will depend u...

Re: Wifi dongle to use with Debian & Rspberry PI

I've got the Belkin Wireless G dongle to work, but I needed to add usbcore to the modules file to ensure that the USB was fully initialised before loading the wifi drivers.

Re: Duplicate pi user on the Debian image

<t>I'm guessing this is not intentional, but why are there two entries for pi (and other entries) in the /etc/passwd file for the Debian image (19-04-2012)?<br/> <br/> As far as Linux is concerned it will just take the the first entry with UID 1000, and ignore the second one with UID 1001.<br/> <br/...

Re: HDMI Leads - £1 in poundland (UK)

B&Q also have some cheap HDMI leads in the bargain bins. At £2 they are twice the cost of Poundland, but the free parking could make all the difference compared with in town car parks.
