Re: What is your Pi "build"?

Oh, I love this kind of thread. Pity my setup is very, very average and bland. Whatever. Here goes: First, background: I use my Pi as my main computer, mainly because it never breaks or has Windows Updates, but it doesn't actually stop me doing much. The only real limitations are I can't do YouTube ...

Re: Can I run windows XP in raspberry pi2

I know you're almost definitely trolling, but I just wanted to tell the OP, that like others have said above, it is not possible to compile the source code because XP is closed-source proprietary (bleugh) software. And no-one tell me "you fell for it" or "don't feed the trolls, it makes them strong...

Re: Fun things to do before reinstalling Raspbian?

Boot it. Login as pi. Get a root shell with sudo -i;cd /;rn -rf * Set a stopwatch running and see how long it runs before trashing the filesystem brings it crashing down in a massive heap of loose and untidy 1s & Os. EDIT: You probably meant rm -rf not rn -rf :geek: Thank ye kindly. I'll just wait ...

Fun things to do before reinstalling Raspbian?

Just kinda-sort-of-wrecked my Raspbian installation. It works fine, I just accidentally uninstalled (looking at you, retropie uninstaller) a lot of nonessential-to-the-system-but-essential-to-my-installed-applications dependencies/libraries. So basically I now have a post-apocalyptic Raspbian. Havin...

Re: Command to start Epiphany in an Incognito (private) inst

Private browsing just means that cache, history etc. are not saved between sessions. There doesn't have to be a difference in what the window looks like. BTW, kweb uses private mode by default (it can be disabled with a command line option). Seems normal as in it looks like a normal session,...

Command to start Epiphany in an Incognito (private) instance

Is there a command to start the Epiphany web browser in an Incognito (Private browsing) instance? According to man epiphany-browser it's epiphany-browser --private-instance but when trying that it just seems to open a normal window :( I know Epiphany isn't the best browser, but Iceweasel uses way to...

Where to post tutorials?

I've made a detailed tutorial of how to set up a LLMP stack + PhpBB + phpMyAdmin + h5ai, but I don't know where to post it on the forums. Off topic discussion? General discussion? Maybe someone could point me in the right direction...
Thanks.

"Failed to load kernel modules" during boot

This has been bugging me for a while. There's nothing that's actually changed in the Pi's normal operation (apart from that lxpanel transparency seems to glitch to gray more often upon bootup, could be coincidence), but I just want to know what this is because I'm curious, and for once, the magic Go...

Re: What is your software (& physical) setup like?

LXDE default is the worst I've seen though. Even the new Made-For-The-Pi LXDE can't fix it. LXDE on the Pi isn't that bad... compared to how it is in Lubuntu, that is horrid. I'll try and get a pic to show when I get home, and maybe even one from years back to show that while my desk is bad, it cou...

Hey guys, new to this world completely. I recently bought RPi 3. Formatted the SD card then downoaded NOOBS 1.9.1. Re: Adapter Makes High-Pitched Whistling Sound

I honestly don't know, but some chargers (and other things) make whistling noises. For example, my HP laptop power supply makes that kind of whistling. So does my cheap phone charger. Never had a problem with them. My monitor makes a quiet humming noise when the screen brightness is near the middle...
