Oh, I naively assumed that self-powered USB hubs wouldn't draw any power from their upstream port :o

Re: RTC Software

1) What would be the "best" language to write this in? I want to be able to add the program fairly easily to any OS image I want to use. Probably BASH, as that's the language used by the rest of the Linux startup-scripts. Or you could code it in C which would be much harder, but allow it to execute...

Re: the teething troubles... (not the launch)

I don't even think its the cpu that is the bottleneck, its the graphics on screen really and the feedback a user gets when clicking on something. For kids to keep their attention they need an instant response really. Currently the graphics are all being rendered (drawn) by the CPU (rather than bein...

I don't have much interest in emulators myself, but IIRC it's quite a popular topic in the GP32X and OpenPandora communities, if anyone's looking for some "which emulators are any good" leads... ;)

Seems to be something funny happening with the formatting in this thread http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... f=2&t=4076
Notice how towards the bottom of the first page, the "poster info" box suddenly jumps left-wards :?

Any chance that some of the http://elinux.org/BCM2835_datasheet_errata might get incorporated, and a new revision of the data sheet published?

Seems like with the new forum, unless you use multiple browser tabs, you can't see the thread you're replying to when composing your reply :( Scroll down the Reply page - the thread is below the "Options"/"Upload attachment" tabbed area. Oh yeah - a tiny scrolling view that I hadn't noticed  ...

Because overclocking voids your warranty, and as JamesH keeps pointing out, the chip "remembers" if it's been overclocked.

Compared to the prosilver theme, the "Options" and "Upload attachment" buttons don't seem to be styled properly in the raspite theme. I kept clicking on "Options" for ages, wondering why nothing was happening

As long as it's a regulated 5V supply, I believe an easier way to supply more current to the USB ports would be to just connect directly to the +5V GPIO header?
