Re: Is the Pi a good choice for accellerated graphics?

I got some very nice gyro compass displays using blender for creating a mesh of the compass rose and lighting it with a green light in OpenGL. Looks just like the real thing. For display you just need to pass the gyro angle in real time and OpenGL takes care of rotating the mesh.

Re: Raspberry pi zero equivalent with Ethernet

It is not only the cost. When you start adding boards on the top of each other the design becomes wobbly. With one HAT you have about 24mm high setup. If I then add a second board we are up to 36mm. The design is impractical. Higher than what it is wide. I was going to make a RetroPi using PiZero an...

Re: PiZero Ethernet pHAT

Thank you! I was just starting to Google what needs to be done for the audio bits. I have to download this and test it out. There is an eeprom on the board so I should be able to insert this code onto the chip. When the PiZero DeviceTree is fully operational the setup should be automatic. About the ...

Re: Adding ethernet to Raspberry PI Zero

What I find good about this Ethernet Cap is that it has a proper regulated power supply from RPI's 5V output protecting RPI's 3.3V circuit from overloading. Probably this could also be nice if added to miscap ;) I just noticed that this is the wrong thread. Please continue discussions about Miscap ...

The second link with Squeezebox is pretty simple. At home I have a Zyxel NAS with squeezebox server running from an USB stick. It will recognize players connected to port 9000. You can control the players either from a web page exported from the squeezebox server or some Android app connected to the...

Re: Adding ethernet to Raspberry PI Zero

Any add-on board for the Zero is going to look silly-priced given the Zero's crazy $5 price-point. The crazy price-point is also encouraging designers to find new creative ways to cut the costs. There is shortly a very cool add-on board for Zero to make a stand-alone DMX light and sound control sys...

Re: Adding ethernet to Raspberry PI Zero

Very overpriced for 10Mbps Ethernet, when for £15.00 you can buy https://store.google.com/product/ethernet_adapter_for_chromecast £10 gets you this Yep even better, even factoring in cost of adaptor and 170+ Mbits/sec :D It is based on USB 3. Has someone tested that it works? The best option I have...

Re: Adding ethernet to Raspberry PI Zero

Can you clarify the relationship, if any, between the PiJack and the device discussed and developed in this forum thread: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=127522 ? There is no relationship with MisCap and this Kickstarter campaign. But while we are on this subject MisCap will...

I am currently facing a similar problem with controlling a hot plate. Reading a 7-segment display with a camera is a bit more attractive than soldering your own electronics in a device with strong currents and high temperatures. If the camera is in a fixed position you just need to take a snapshot o...

Re: USB to USB copy slow

We got a lot of cheap 4G give-away sticks with the company logo that worked just like this most of the time. My guess is that you cannot read back the data from the destination stick - ever. The modern 8G, 16G or 32G sticks you can buy from a computer shop work much better. I use the same tar comman...

The biggest market by volume is the USA; the biggest market per capita of population (by some margin) is Sweden. I'd love to dig into that a bit more - what's going on in Sweden to make us so popular? You're going to have to fly to Stockholm to do some special research. From the Swedish speaking se...

Re: NMEA data to RPi2 via USB port

Hi guys. Nautical serial signals are not standard RS232. The transmitter is really RS485 and the receiver is a resistor and an opto for isolating the receiving end from the transmitter. When you connect these equipment on a vessel you never have ground loops because of this. So we are talking about ...

The most common cause is ground loops between the devices. Can you disconnect everything else but the sensor and the measuring computer to see if the noise is still there.
