Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

On a positive note - I have solved my earlier problem. Tried the whole process again (this time with my overclock removed) and its building now. Not sure if it was the overclock or something else but at least its doing something now. Thanks to all.

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

I just tried to do this following your guide.. Everything seemed to be going well until the step "make -C tools/rbp/depends/xbmc/" After a few mins the response was... <snip> checking for gawk... gawk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking ...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Ideally somebody smart could package this up into a .deb for those who are afraid\unable to compile themselves. Not sure if this is a big ask or not.

Re: Would it run well?

What sort of bitrate are the files you want to play? multiply that by 3 for your 3 users. That will give you the required throughput per second.

I would IMAGINE the CPU load will be fairly low for simple file sharing but I havent used uShare and cant be sure.

Re: OpenELEC 4 Debian

Great bit of software this package, worked effortlessly, however have one slight snag, The screen keeps overspilling, I reset it to it's correct settings, then when I reboot the pi the settings are off again, do I need to set these in the config file? I have the same problem in standalone openelec ...

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

Re: MATE for Raspbian

Great idea - I'm using MATE on Mint 13 on the desktop and its great. I feel very much at home having a gnome2 background. I just hope it runs reasonably on the Pi - It flies on my PC. The only annoying thing is that they have changed the names of the default apps like gedit is now pluma. Cant wait t...

Re: Raspbmc Release Candidate

Using RC2 - Install went fine after I ignored the SD card timeout errors on startup. BUT - outputting video over composite to a PAL SDTV the resolution is stuck at 720 x 288 ( I think - its hard to read). This means that it only fills the top half of the screen and it pretty much unusable. NOTE - My...

The Pi must boot from the SD card something to do with it starting in the GPU first so I don't think that will be possible.

I cant see why you cant boot from the SD card and then revert to program code that is run from a remote location.

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

Most DVD's will probably be MPEG2 which is not supported for GPU decoding due to licensing restrictions. Also - are CSS and region coding removed already from the ISO's as that could be an issue too?
