Re: Feedback pls: Remotely connect to your Raspberry Pi

As far as the "keep-alive" data usage goes. In one hour, with the terminal open in the browser and no other activity going on I saw 700KB come in on my Pi's WIFI interface and 11MB going out. That's like 3KBytes per second! What on Earth is it doing? The binary blob in the Pi that they do not want ...

Re: Pi3 speed compared to Pi2

The performance of the SD card may be a huge factor? I just noticed that my most fast micro SD card is not that fast at all. Samsung Evo It has a reading speed of 45mb/s and no guaranteed writing speed... The most fast micro SD we could buy and put in our Pi would be: Samsung Pro+ microSDHC ? 95MB/s...

Re: Pi3 speed compared to Pi2

The biggest difference i noticed:
Ubuntu Mate on Pi2: Not usable. Super sluggish.
On Pi3 is its really usable (until you try browsing internet or watching Youtube).

Re: Proud and sad!

Maybe a little unrelated but the current Noob img, the Arch Linux install option, when used and the installer is finished wil not boot on my Pi3.
Tried installing Arch from Noobs 2x on my Pi3.
It gives a screen that says hold shift for.... (safe mode or something?).
And then the screen go's black.

Torrents are not only used for "illegal" downloads.
Most Linux distro's have a torrent up for their current image.
Here is a no-nonse torrent client that is easy to use and has no ads:

Re: Proud and sad!

I have a full range of Pi's including a 2, so not a problem to upgrade an SD card and try it, but sudo apt-get upgrade is not doing anything, it finds 0 files to upgrade, so it seems the upgrades are not yet there. Strangely I failed to successfully download the latest rasbian from here multiple do...

I think you guys mean the Pi can run the Minicraft PI edition. The Minecraft pocket edition is still updated. Last update was on 18 feb 2016. (http://minecraftpocketedition.wikia.com/wiki/Update_0.14.0) But its not availible on the Pi? Only the Minecraft pocket edition server software is availible f...

SD slot "click" in

I have a question about the Pi3.

On my Pi2 the SD cards "click" nicely into the SD slot and is locked until you push it again.
On my Pi3 the card just slides in and its not locked. Is this normal on a Pi3 or is my SD slot faulty?

Pi3 internet browsing and Youtube performance

Can somebody who already has the Pi3 or had the honor to test it tell me if the internet browsing performance and youtube performance is now at a level that we could say its a desktop replacement for people who only browse and watch youtube? Pi-B+ and Pi2 where not fast enough for those tasks. ( So ...

If you want THE best wifi adapter in your pi, then i could recommend these 2: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Alfa Network AWUS036NEH Bot have external antenna that are a few inch long, and because of that they easily beat all the nano wifi adapters with their build in mini antenna. The antenna can also be replac...

Hi,

The Pi does not boot from USB...

What are using to power the Raspberry Pi? Some phone charger you have laying around or one made to power the pi?
Charger should have the following specs to properly power the pi and stuff plugged in to its usb ports:
5V/2A - 10W

But those processors are so slow compared with entry level atom processors with 2GB RAM 32/64GB SSD. They don't run any full-featured programs like atom processors do either so what's the point of giving them arms and legs that they don't need? They run your mentioned openoffice/libreoffice with ea...
