multiplayer games for kids in a LAN

Hi, we`re doing some raspi- and arduino-things at school. The children are asking for some games in between and I was thinking of simple multiplayer-games for a LAN-environment - no internet. Since all games installed with raspian are single player I ask you if you know easy games suitable for child...

setting shell language to DE UTF-8

Hi, after some failing in trying to change the default language on my new PI3 JESSIE to german DE I decided to ask for help here. During installation I chose german language and keyboard settings, and under X everything is fine (webbrowser, writer etc.) But in the shell it doesn't work, instead of "...

charset thermoprinter "umlaut" like ä, ß, etc

Hi, I hope this question isn't too stupid, but I have no idea where to find an answer. I have a thermal printer (https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/mini-thermal-printer) connected to my pi and it's doing fine. BUT: how do I print german "Umlaute" like ä, ß, etc. ? Can I just change the utf-coding? T...

Re: arduino uno connection trouble

 Brilliant!

Thank you for the hint! It wasn't the cable at the end but the uno. Luckily I ordered 2, and the second one works fine. Strange because it shows up at the arduino program, the led's glow and blink - anyway, it's not working.
Thank you for your help!

Re: arduino uno connection trouble

Yes, you're right,
It's /dev/ttyUSB0

But it doesn't change anything at the moment. The arduino seems to be connected, but I can't send code to it. Why do I get this error message?

Re: Enigmail with icedove 31.7.0

Yes, it's raspbian. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get install enigmail enigmail: no upgrade, is the most recent version Icedove is still 31.7.0, "sudo apt-get install icedove" --> 31.7.0 is the most recent version. What am I doing wrong? And where do I find enigmail / how can I t...

Enigmail with icedove 31.7.0

Hi,
as we started to set up a raspberry pi2 as a low cost mail computer I was trying to get enigmail running with icedove 31.7.0
It says "... could not be installed, not compatible with 31.7.0"
Can I downgrade? Which version of icedove could work? Other ideas?

thx for your help, I'm lost
