Same issues at first - I seem to be able to avoid problems with two powered hubs and the wifi adapter in one and keybd+mouse in the other. Errors on first attempt to boot but rebooting generlly brings up wifi after two or three attempts, and then it is fine and works in lxde or from console.

I took quake three from the zip file on the RPi home page blog, and the pak files from Tass's how-to blog link, taking the zipped together 9 files and copying to the approp directory... Any idea if I'm missing anything?

Indeed, and as I said, quite entertaining... RPi is fine with just mouse and keyboard and wired internet

I'm trying to rush and get a practical set up that I can commend to my scouts (and daughter) as quite a few are expecting their RPis soon!
