Re: My RasPi running off AAA batteries

Exactly, I wanted it to be efficient as possible.

That was also on my mind, not sure how to do it exactly but I'll give it a go at some point!

Re: My RasPi running off AAA batteries

I kinda cheated on the regulator, I got it off ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390327745637?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Unfortunately it's quite expensive, but I only bought it to save time in building the circuit myself. It's probably cheaper to buy the components and build t...

My RasPi running off AAA batteries

Just thought I'd share my breadboard-based battery pack powering my Pi http://distilleryimage6.instagram.com/f2b3d5929f8211e192e91231381b3d7a_7.jpg http://distilleryimage7.instagram.com/a8ba67f89f7d11e1a39b1231381b7ba1_7.jpg Seems to be working a treat, no idea how long they'll last! Excellent stuff, I think the DirectFB guys are working on something similar, but obviously using DirectFB instead of X which would then be accelerated by the GPU.

keep up the good work!

Re: X.org driver and GPU in general

Sorry to bring back an old post, but was there any progression with this? Getting an accelerated desktop would be pretty handy! (running at 1080p on the framebuffer is nasty to say the least...)

Re: Running programs off a USB memory stick

The latest version of Debian automounted a USB flash drive I inserted into my Pi when using LXDE (not sure if it would do this when at command line)

Re: Any sucess with iphone screns??

That's good news, the project I have in mind for my Pi would ideally use a MIPI panel driven off the DSI connector. I'm just hoping a panel of the right size will be available (around 4", though the iPhone screen would be ideal)

Re: Quake 2 (source included)

Anyone fancy porting Quake 2 to the RasPi? I've found source for the GP2X version (Linux based with OpenGL ES) here:

pickle.gp2x.de/source/yamagi_quake2_src.zip

I'll make a shameful attempt once I get my Pi but thought someone else wouldn't mind giving it a go?

I thought it was against the Ts&Cs to sell an item you don't actually own? Correct me if I'm wrong!
