espeak on AIY (SOLVED)

I am attempting to use espeak on my AIY system and it works but I get the following messages. How do I resolve this? Do not concern yourself with the "unable to resolve host RPiAIY". I do nor believe that has anything to do with what I want to achieve. pi@RPiAIY:~ $ sudo /usr/games/fortune -a | /usr...

pHat python import issue

I have just installed pHat speaker that I got from Pimoroni on my Raspberry B v3 running latest raspbian OS. When running the test suggested on https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/speaker-phat I get the following error. I am not a python programmer and need some help please. testing text-to-speech te...

Re: stretch wiringpi

That is all very well but still does not explain why gcc could not find wiringPi. I suspect that /usr/local/lib has something to do with it. I did not have /usr/local/lib in my /etc/ld.so.conf even though I am running an uptodate raspbian. Am I wrong in assuming that the something, if including wiri...

Re: stretch wiringpi

Just in case you still have a mess, the following helped me get sorted. Got it working by doing the following. Read about /usr/local/lib . I quote the original document below. Some distributions do not have /usr/local/lib in the default LD_LIBRARY_PATH. To fix this, you need to edit /etc/ld.so.conf ...

Re: stretch wiringpi

We have lost the plot I am afraid. As we all seem to be solving problems with little reference to my original question I think that this thread should be closed and Ill start again. Apparently the solution is to serach for wiringPi using apt and then wiringPi is not lost. Suggestion by buja a little...

Re: stretch wiringpi

I do not see a choice.
It is either there or not there.
BTW The method I used above is what was suggested in the wiringpi documentation and specifically it said for C do not use github. Apparently github is for languages other than C.

firefox/iceweasel DRM

I have successfully watched netflix movies using Firefox/iceweasel on a Ubuntu laptop as Firefox/Iceweasel already has DRM included but wonder when DRM will get to the Raspberry Pi version of Firefox/Iceweasel or for that matter any other app. I have seen that if one cares to one can get a version o...

Identify microphone & speaker on pi-top with pi-topPulse

As I said in the subject I have a pi-top running latest raspbian stretch. I do not want to go with a Google or Amazon, "Hi Google" or "Alexa", solution as I want to do my own voice recognition etc, without needing the internet. Now that I have given you an idea of what the project is my problem is I...

Re: Start Dev Terminal and starting my own terminal question.

The reason I asked was that I would like the AIY to autostart at boot and therefore I was about to write a script to help with that. @boot some script I have still to write in crontab. Now what do I "call" from the command line to get the Start Dev Terminal running? or if there is a better way I am ...

Start Dev Terminal and starting my own terminal question.

Is there any difference between clicking the "Start dev terminal" and starting my own terminal?
In other words does clicking the button do anything other than switch directories & display a message?

Is it possible to configure both eth0 and wan0 to be be available at the same time and each using separate routers?
If so , how do I go about doing that?
