Problem using Chromium and squid proxy

Hi,

I launch Chromium browser on my Pi with:

Code: Select all

chromium-browser --proxy-server="localhost:3128"
But Chromium does not use the proxy.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks very much :)

Have you set the UDP port forward in the router?

With WiFI and BT enabled, I don't believe the Pi3 runs acceptably without an external power supply (i.e. not USB).

Re: Setting up DDNS on Pi

Hi Guneish, have you considered DuckDNS, we run a completely free DDNS service that you can script/cron on your PI, we have several login methods Google+, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter (using oAuth). The setup instructions on Pi can be found here: https://www.duckdns.org/install.jsp?tab=pi QUACK! Maybe...

This error

Recurs after reboot.

Like the OP, I only started receiving this recently.

Re: RPi incredibly slow after Pixel upgrade

Anything showing up in dmesg? Specifically for the built in wifi? I've rolled-back to an earlier system, but when I do get around to upgrading again, and if things are still performing poorly, I'll check. However, I run the WiFi in AP mode, and syslog is just chock-full of: Oct 3 17:04:14 raspberry...

Re: Introducing PIXEL desktop: new Raspbian release

Ok, I've just done the update and dist-upgrade on a Pi3 (remotely using vnc) The icons changed appearance, but the windows didn't get rounded edges. I then did a sudo reboot and now I just have a intermittently (random) flashing red LED. I get one single flash of the green LED very shortly after po...

Re: RPi incredibly slow after Pixel upgrade

I recently upgraded my Pi2 to a Pi3 - I use it as a headless always on OpenVPN/Squid/Privoxy/TOR/Apache/MySQL/realVNC server and wanted a little more oomph. It seemed like there was a noticeable improvement from moving to the Pi3. A week later, I ran the upgrade, and all seemed well. I tend to boot ...

Hi,

Started receiving notification emails from my Pi as follows:

/etc/cron.daily/logrotate:
Warning: Unit file of apache2.service changed on disk, 'systemctl daemon-reload' recommended.

Other than issuing

Code: Select all

systemctl daemon-reload
Any ideas..?

Thanks - Steven.

Re: Pi2 for Pi3 swap-out: any pitfalls?

Thanks. I propose to use the same customized Raspbian configuration using exactly the same SD card for the Pi3. Literally just swapping-out the board.

(I'll then create a new image afresh for the now spare Pi2.)

Cheers.

Pi2 for Pi3 swap-out: any pitfalls?

Hi, My Pi2 is set up nicely as an always-on home server. I'd now like some more processor grunt, so plan to just swap-out the Pi2 for a new Pi3. (I'll then have a spare Pi for some project work.) Are there likely to be any obvious issues with just swapping-out the hardware? I presume the 'foot print...
