Re: Debian Hard Float (armhf) for RPi

<t>I"ve put together a Raspberry Pi SD card image for Raspbian. to download it. Username is root, password is hexxeh. It"s a totally minimal image at 84MB compressed. mpthompson, if you"d like a dedicated Pi with SSH setup running this, I can arrange that for you, just let me know. I"m around on #ra...

Re: rpi-update - Firmware updater for Raspberry Pi

<t>I've added basic support for updating the VC libs/headers/binaries to the updater tool.<br/> <br/> It uses readelf to try to detect whether you're running SoftFP or HardFP. One thing I did notice, is that the libilclient.a in the hello_pi/libs folder is HardFP for both the SoftFP and HardFP files...

Most distros have a way to configure autologin.

I'm planning on shipping hardfloat Chromium OS, so that won't work in that instance.

<t>Sure, I'll add them to the tool very soon. The tool updates itself, so anyone who already has it installed doesn't need to reinstall it.<br/> <br/> The one problem I can see with updating the /opt/vc folder is that there are softfp and hardfp versions. We could ask the user which they have, but t...

I'm trying to fix this problem to a degree, check my thread about rpi-updater out in this forum.

Re: rpi-update - Firmware updater for Raspberry Pi

<r>Seeing so many releases of the Debian image in a relatively short period of time made me think. It'd be nice if there was a way to keep up to date without having to entirely reimage your SD card.<br/> <br/> So I've thrown together a tool that lets you install the latest firmware/kernel easily. Re: Debian Hard Float (armhf) for RPi

Both tests were done with the rootFS and the target files to be compressed/decompressed residing on USB stick. The same USB stick was used for both tests. No SD was involved.

Re: Debian Hard Float (armhf) for RPi

The Debian packages aren't optimised for armv6, are they? I thought they were built for armv4T.

The improvement might come from the fact that these packages are targeting armv6.

Whatever you did, it's fixed it. Just ran debootstrap on my Pi and created a rootFS on a USB stick without issue from your packages. Good job!

Re: Spotify

It's not libspotify based, but if Spotify-streamed music is all you want, try despotify. I've gotten it working on a Pi after a few patches, info is on my blog: http://hexxeh.net/

<t>What you're doing looks awesome! I don't have much in the way of ARM boards (my Raspberry Pis are my first!) but I have quite a bit of x86 power and lots of bandwidth available, so if you need any extra resources to assist you in your project, or want me to test your images on a Pi, let me know a...
