Re: Bluetooth Audio Crackles

Yes both WiFi and Bluetooth are in use and required. I would like to avoid using another USB device and understand what the issue is. I assume u are eluding to interference but then what would explain it remaining clear after the first 5 seconds?

Bluetooth Audio Crackles

Good Day, I have a Pi Zero W and a Pi 3 that I'm using to play audio through a Bluetooth speaker (JBL Go). I'm experiencing the same issue on both Pi's where the audio starts off crackly/spluttery for the first 5-10seconds. I have pulse-audio setup with the pulseaudio-module-bluetooth. I am trying t...

ZTE USB Modem Just Works?

Hi, I've used numerous Huawei USB modems with the Pi 1,2 and 3. I have a dedicated script that checks the lsusb output and on finding a modem that matches the usbmodeswitch data file does the switch and connect with sakis3g. This creates a ppp interface to the internet. I recently bought a ZTE MF710...

Re: Audio Recording, Snap, Crackle and Pop Issue!

Thank you gsh, Admittedly the Pi image I use is very old and has been "tweaked" quite a bit trying to fix the issue when it existed. I have downloaded and flashed the latest Jessie image onto a new SD and bench testing it on a Pi1. First test: Using a USB sound card record some audio (arecord)... Re...

Link fixed, yip copy&paste issue :) Yip the CM108 is quite a capable little chip (and I use it flawlessly through a windows laptop), specification can be found here: http://www.cmedia.com.tw/productsdetail/page-p/c1serno-25/c2serno-26/pserno-7.html Im going through the long thread, looks like they h...

Re: Audio Recording, Snap, Crackle and Pop Issue!

Thanks Gregeric,

I will investigate those threads.
The lsusb -v output for each pi setup can be found
Pi1_lsusbv
Pi2_lsusbv

as well as the syslog snippet Pi2_syslog
basically nothing special happening there except some DHCP stuff over and over.

Kind Regards,

Re: Audio Recording, Snap, Crackle and Pop Issue!

Thank you for your response Moses, however I need to respectfully disagree with you on the point of it being arbitrary external factors. USB audio output is/was a known issue of the PI with regards to data getting through the USB Bus. As per my diagram I have 2 different PI setups (i.e A PI 1 and P2...

Re: Audio Recording, Snap, Crackle and Pop Issue!

Thanks for all the feedback, I like the idea of isolating my audio input using a cell phone to test and not the current PA systems line out. I will try this, I will also try the "nice" priority idea although I can tell you my Load Average of the PI is around 0.5 to 0.7. I do see that more informatio...

Re: Audio Recording, Snap, Crackle and Pop Issue!

Try diffrent psu ? @r3d4 Why would you think it to be a Power Supply issue? Yes I am trying to isolate where the issue is first however I am not picking up any alarm bells in any of the application or system logs. What I would like to know is how can I "increase" verbosity of system logs such that ...

Re: Audio Recording, Snap, Crackle and Pop Issue!

I've renamed this post to be a bit more descriptive. I know that many people have focused on removing pops/crackles from audio output. I have not read anything on audio input i.e. recording.

There is an issue in my opinion with this and I would like to know how to raise a bug report?

Re: Input Sound Clarity

This is driving me nuts, Is there anyone that can support me on this issue? I have read articles "claiming" to have pop/crackle free audio from the pi, but I am not able to achieve this. I have got it to do quite well but from time to time I get the annoying pop/crackle. My setup is as follows (whic...

Re: Input Sound Clarity

Thanks for posting an alternative however it is too costly compared to USB sound cards. These USB sound cards work flawlessly on other systems like my home computer however on the RPi it gives hassles. Which im sure can be solved. Im not looking for high definition audio recording, I just want a des...

Re: Input Sound Clarity

I have been scouring the net for information on this issue, and presently it is my understanding that these "clicks"/"pops" in the audio input is due to a USB implementation issue on the RPi which is more prevalent in the 2.0 mode. When forcing USB 1.1 mode the issue gets better but is far from perf...

Audio Recording, Snap, Crackle and Pop Issue!

Good Day, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction, I have been using PI's (model 1, b and 2) to stream audio to an icecast server. I use a usb sound card to input the audio and an application called "liquidsoap" to stream to the icecast server. My issue is with the recorded sound qual...

Good Day, I have a USB sound card on my New Pi2 that I use the "mic in" to record audio. The recording is done using the ALSA interface however it is too loud. Re: Raspberry PI + 3G Dongle

Hi, So can I assume the "usb_mode_switch, sakis3G and umtskeeper" combo is currently the only way to maintain a 3G connection using a dongle? This easily eats away just over 50% CPU resources. I have tried overclocking + setting governor to performance as well as disabling some of the "nice to have"...

Raspberry PI + 3G Dongle

Good Day, I have been trying to setup a stable 3G connection on the PI using a USB modem. After figuring out the various components involved i.e. usb_mode_switch, sakis3G and umtskeeper I found that this approach is not very efficient. My load average runs very high with sakis3G not leaving much roo...
