Re: Do you have a RPi connected weather station?

Mihol you are correct. WH1080 or compatible weather stations should work. The suggestion is that any running easyweather software will be ok, but i cannot verify this.

Re: Do you have a RPi connected weather station?

I have changed the map to allow raspberry pi connected weather stations without a web site to be added.
Enjoy

Do you have a RPi connected weather station?

I have experienced a huge amount of interest in my tutorial at http://www.weather.dragontail.co.uk on how to connect a Raspberry Pi to a weather station. So why not create a map of the stations through the world.
Please go to the site and add your web site so we can see where these are.

My sd card die today, after 6 months of continuous running. I could reformat it, but don't want to risk it, so I have setup a new sd card. Re: Weather Station now running

Hi I am struggling to get this working. I have managed to get the Pi to talk to the Weather Station and download data. I have setup the Apache webserver with the template from "Weather By You" but I can only get the webpage to display the header and no data. weather.jpg I have run sudo python pywws...

Re: Weather Station now running

For the aerial, it's just a bit of wire approx 17cm long. Having the headunit hang the USB every so often is really a pain. It seemed to run better for me with cumulus before I had a pi, but with pywws it was around 3-4 days uptime. I was livelogging rather than hourly, so maybe that makes a differ...

Re: Weather Station now running

Thank you so much for the write up, I'd never have got up and running without it. I now have a maplins touch N96GY weather station reporting to my pi, which is in turn uploading to metoffice, weatherunderground and some web hosting at http://jasonfarmer.co.uk, although not too thrilled with pywws a...

Re: Weather Station now running

Pingu, just curious as to whether you experience the same USB hangs from the head-unit to the pi that is widely reported using pywws and the WH1080/Maplin weather station? I just notice that there's a couple of gaps in the graphs over the last 7 days, so was wondering if that was you messing with i...

For those interested I have updated and tested the Weather Station setup tutorial using the latest Raspbian Wheezy image. Motion with 2012-09-18-wheezy-raspbian

Has anyone else experienced problems with the latest version of raspbian and Motion. Upgrading caused the error "Non-zero status (-5) in video completion handler and the webcam closes"  If i load the previous version 2012-08-08-wheezy everything works fine.

Just a quick update. Tried loading the previous version 2012-08-08-wheezy and motion works fine. So its likely to be something in the update

Re: WiFi works only in command line

I have been having similar problems with the wifi working on the command line, but stopping in LXDE.
The problem appears to be the mouse. I can start LXDE without a mouse and the wifi continues to work. Plug the mouse in and it stops. The command line wifi works with or without the mouse.

Re: UVC UVCcapture Colour problems Logitech Pro9000

The problem appear to be that the web cam does to sleep then does not react fast enough to new settings. To get round this I created a script that takes 2 pictures with a 5 second delay, the second overwriting the first #!/bin/sh cd /home/pi/uvccapture/output uvccapture -v -S45 -B190 -C35 -G50 -x640...

Re: UVC UVCcapture Colour problems Logitech Pro9000

I'm using a Logitech C270 with the same issues, Everything works fine with motion, but uvccapture gives a very dark image using uvccapture -v you can see that it defaults the camera to 255 for all the settings I have tried uvccapture -B120 -C130 -S50 -G50 -v Using these settings, sometimes I get a g...

Re: Weather Station now running

It's a useful starting point, but the WH108[01] has wind speed and direction, and rainfall also, so there'd be some extra information in there for sure. K I've had some success driving an RFM12B from the Pi to read the WH1081 data directly. Unfortunately the Maplin units don't have RFM01/02 TX/RX m...

Re: Weather Station now running

Hi Frog Pi
I have had no problems with my pi and communicating with the weather station, although up until the middle of last week I only had one pi, so it kept getting borrowed for other experiments. But for the last week its been running continuously now I have my second pi.
