If you're going to add a GDI to Jessie Lite, just grab the Full Jessie and save yourself the headache.

Full Jessie has X and a full graphical desktop. Lite has all that removed, it's pure CLI.

If you have a DHCP server on your local network, perhaps you could set up a static lease for your Pi and just use the OOB configuration?

Re: 3 Pin RYG LED Wiring

If they are 3 lead TriColor LED's, then you should have one lead that is longer than the other two. That is your common. When you supply power to Common and one of the short leads, you'll get either Red or Green. and when you supply power to the other short and common you should get either Green or ...

If it's a new laptop that you are buying then it most likely will run Ubuntu with no problem. (I have 16.04 running a server with 256MB RAM and 7.5G HD space. The Ubuntu guides show 2G HD and 512MB RAM for minimal install with Desktop)

nano /etc/network/interfaces Read the header of the interfaces file, noting the portion that states that the file is meant to be used with dhcpcd. (Admitting the language could be clearer, but it means Don't Set Static Addresses In This File, use the dhcpcd config files instead.) So put the interfa...

You'd have to source the Pine64+ boards. They seem to be rarer than a Zero. (And I can't get mine to GigE, it's stuck with the current half-supported software.)

Re: Pi becomes unresponsive, blaming PiDrive

From the Boot Problems Sticky: Check that your power supply and its USB cable is working and fit-for-purpose This is sufficiently important that the B+ and Pi 2 now contain a detector that signals bad power. On the model A and B the PWR LED was simply connected to power, but on later models of the P...

There is a sub-forum dedicated to the Win10IoT platform, viewforum.php?f=105

You probably will get quicker and better responses (no insult to bensimmo intended) if you delete this post and start a new thread in that Sub.

Good luck!

It will not work. Full Stop. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. There is nothing you can do to make it work on the Pi. Sorry to have to be so blunt, but you've been told this numerous times. It's just not going to happen.

You redacted the important information. You don't need to redact the RFC 1918 addresses. Looks like you have either an addressing or a routing issue going on.

Are you able to ping the gateway?

Step 2: approach Raspberry Pi Trading for permission. Most Pi based stuff is free to produce but as an astro pi case is clearly an item that they have made you may need to pay a license fee. If so they will probably give you access to the official stl files. Clive mentioned (perhaps jokingly) that ...

They use SMD caps, not the electrolytic capacitors that were known to 'fail' in sometimes rather spectacular ways.

Not sure what the use case is for buying and storing unused for many years, why not just wait until you need them in a few years and buy the latest model then?
