Re: What's the best way to backup everything?

Thank you for all your suggestions. I tried rsync, but it was indeed a bit confusing, especially since I'm quite busy at the moment, so I don't have a lot of time to read up (usually this is the reason why I don't have backups setup, I never have the time to do the research and set something up). I'...

Re: What's the best way to backup everything?

That is very true, and I do appreciate your answer. I did forget to mention these preferences in the original post. I'm still interested in any other way, since it might come in handy some day.

Re: What's the best way to backup everything?

A quick google search told me that this only works in the GUI (doesn't seem very handy for automating?), and it requires an external SD card reader + SD card, which I don't have. I'd prefer to upload the copy to Dropbox, or an other cloud service, from which I can then manage the backups.

What's the best way to backup everything?

I've been playing with my RPi for about 3 to 4 years now. In that time, 2 SD cards have stopped working, forcing me to redo everything I had set up. I've always had the habit to make backups while I'm setting stuff up, but that habit hasn't completely trickled in yet when making small adjustments. S...

Re: Error while upgrading RPi

Not really important, the biggest "issue" is that it would be a nuisance to install (and especially configure) the stuff I've got once again. On the other hand, would be a great moment to write a small manual for myself once I've got the time. I will probably look into this in the weekend, so maybe ...

I'm not 100% sure which of the outputs you require, so I'll state all of them: pi@raspberrypi:~ $ df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/root 14G 3.9G 8.9G 31% / devtmpfs 459M 0 459M 0% /dev tmpfs 463M 0 463M 0% /dev/shm tmpfs 463M 13M 451M 3% /run tmpfs 5.0M 4.0K 5.0M 1% /run/lock tm...

Error while upgrading RPi

I have been trying to update my RPi for a while now, but have been getting an error every time. I've tried looking around online, and trying some random suggestions, but none helped so far. Process Update: pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get update Hit http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org jessie InRelease...

Re: Can't get access to ttyAMA0 for my Razberry

That would indeed probably be it, since I was running quite an outdated version before (1.4.x I believe). What should I do to fix this in the latest version (1.9.x)? --------------------- So after some searching I found some info online. Apparently, in Raspbian Jessie 1.9.x (and up probably), the GP...

Re: Can't get access to ttyAMA0 for my Razberry

I have not installed the pre-done domoticz image. I installed Raspbian via Noobs installer, and installed Domoticz by following this guide. This is the same way as I did this a few months back.

Can't get access to ttyAMA0 for my Razberry

First off: I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, if not, please redirect me. So I had to do an unforeseen complete re-install of my RPi, since it stopped working out of the blue, and I don't have enough knowledge to fix something like that. Now I'm trying to get Domoticz back...

Unfortunately not. I had a promising lead on a Dutch forum, but I haven't heard from that guy in over a week, so no luck I guess.

Re: Accessing RPi samba on Windows 10

No luck unfortunately.
Doesn't show in the network section explorer, can't ping it on name.
I tried rebooting etc., all the usual, but no luck.

Accessing RPi samba on Windows 10

Hi, So I've been trying to use my RPi as a NAS, which I've done before, but it's not working as planned at the moment. I am using samba, and win10 on my PC. I can access my shared folders on my Android with ES File Explorer or by typing the IP-address in explorer, but I can't access my Pi by going t...

Error: No session ID for pid

Hey guys, So recently I started getting this error message on connecting to my RPi via TightVNC: "Error: No session ID for pid 771". I am guessing I have created this issue myself, since I've been messing around, trying to get TightVNC to start on boot (which was a lot harder than it should be). I h...
