Re: Games on Pi

Did you watch the viideo I linked?

You need box86 and an x86 version of wine, then it just a mater of launching nfs3 with wine (that will use box86). Once Wine is there, it's pretty easy to launch. Use TwisterOS and everything is already pre-installed and ready to run.

Re: Games on Pi

NFS3 is not a Java game (Minecraft is).

You can run it on a PI4 with Wine+Box86, look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx7rxZEw6Dc

Re: Steam Error Pi 4

I guess you are using box86 to run Steam. That error message is "normal", just press "ok" to continue. You can avoid it by defining "STEAMOS=1" environement variable. Note that steam is still a bit of hit and miss. It should work with box86, but may crash often. Also, remember that you need to use "...

Yes you can.

Running propriatary x86 code is the whole purpose of box86.

You need latest box86, latest mesa, and some overclock for your Pi4. And you need to play in a small res.
(oh and for now, it hang when quitting, so you need to kill it to quit...)

But you can play!

Re: cannot run anything with box86

Once you have made "sudo make install", you need to reboot 1 time. After that, you can just launch your file without using" box86", so simply "./PaperPlease" should start it. There can be 2 cases in your error: the file is an x86_64 binary or the file is a shel script (I thinks it's the second case)...

Re: Call of duty - United Offensive server on PI3

The file is a shell that tries to do smart things by installing missing package... Which will not work there. You should analyse the script to get what is the binary to run and try to just run this... There will be, probably, some missing x86 library to gather. *EDIT* I'm trying to install it on my ...

Well the box86 option failed. The error reports that the server script is not an ELF file.
Mmmm, are you sure this is a x86 binary then? My guess is this is a x86_64 binary... Try a "file" on the binary, to see what it is...

Try with box86, maybe it will work.
If it doesn't, create a ticket on box86 github with logs and I'll look at it.

shattered pixel dungeon is a fork of pixel dungeon. It's a separate JAR (that will need the same JAR injection as pixel dungeon)

Re: BOX86 on RPI4

So close! Do you think it could be related to sound, just like the compiled zandronum? Does it crash when you add the "-nosound" command line option? It's not sound related. It's something else, but I have to debug, and because the game create/kill *a lot* of thread, it make debugging tedious...

Re: pixel dungeon on raspberry?

You need to install/build libgdx, then take your libgdx.so binary, rename it to libgdxarm.so, and insert it in the .jar (it's a zip file). You may need to also add libgdx-freetype.so renamed as libgdx-reetypearm.so and libjinput-linux.so and libjwjgl.so in the JAR. (This is how I have done it on Pan...

Re: Zandronum (ptitSeb Rpi Build) Crashes Once a Game is Started

I fixed the OpenAL issue: it's a (known?) problem with OpenA-soft 1.19.1 and EFX. So I added a detection of that version, and disabled EFX in that case.

I'll try to reproduce the openal issue. But that wont fix the version number mismatch. In parallel I'll try to have zandronum x86 version running on box86.

Yes, the blessed edition have a lot more picture. You need to get the blessed or build a "cursed edition" version. You need to checkout a "curses" version of the code. Unfortunatly, my fork is not up-to-date on the Tags, so it's tricky to find the correct release there is only "v2.0.4" tag, no idea ...

Re: Successfully Compiling Barony: Blessed Addition on an RP4 w/ 4gb

I don't remember there is a copy of the the binary in /usr/local/bin
strange

Anyway, the better way to get it running is to take the GOG (or steam version), extract somewhere, and replace the x86 binary with the one you just built.

EDIT: also yes, that "lang" folder is part of the repo...

Re: Successfully Compiling Barony: Blessed Addition on an RP4 w/ 4gb

Both should work.
On mine you have some optionnal "FLOAT" optimizations (not sure there are usefull on a Pi) and some slight openGL optimization (aimed at gl4es, not sure if useful on Pi, again), on the other hand the original will be the latest one... You should try both :p

Hi there. I'm not sure why it doesn't find SDL2 TTF once it's installed, strange... (EDIT: the missing symbols are from SDL2 itself, not SDL2 TTF) One hint: instead of hacking the CMakeList.txt, use `ccmake` instead to configure the options you want (like OpenAL instead of FMod).
