Re: Problem with equation solving in Mathematica 10.3

I think we still have not decided if it was an error in the code, or if you've somehow reached a limitation of the RPI. It might be best to ask the same question in a Wolfram/Mathematica forum (No Raspberry), where there are many experts there who can help. I have done very little myself with Mathem...

Re: Problem with equation solving in Mathematica 10.3

My 'best' advice is to run this first on a 'full' computer (not RP) and debug the code. At this stage it is difficult to know why the code won't run ... numerical exception, memory issue, or else. Hard to tell from just looking at the code itself. Might also want to break the calculation into severa...

Re: Is there a place where the Pi zero is NOT sold out?

I stopped by a MicroCenter here in Chicago over the weekend, and they had re-stocked ... but sold out the same day.
Might need to check the local stores regularly (or call them daily),

Sounds like an interesting project. Are you after some sort of array processing / beamforming ?

Re: How to optimize my MediaPi?

I have all my media on a dedicated network drive, connected directly to a router. That way, I'm not tasking my computer, and OSMC gets the files directly from the network drive.

This would have been a nice thread to share with the larger (English speaking) community, and the OP would have gotten many more answers as well. Too bad, can't run all of this by google-translate.

Re: TightVNC refuses to connect ... ?

Did you run tightvncserver from the command line on the RPi so that the viewer on the Windoze 7 machine will have something to connect to that's running? Did you set and use the correct password in setup of the server and logging in with the client? Are you sure you're connecting to the right IP ad...

In this modern day and age where most computer information tends to become 'obsolete' quickly, I doubt we'll ever see any such binders (I'm thinking just like those of National Geographic). Everything is stored/archived/displayed in a digital form nowadays ...

TightVNC refuses to connect ... ?

I've installed TightVNC on my RPI2 and VNC viewer on my windows 7 machine.
When I try to connect from my PC< I get the following error message:

Error in TightVNC Viewer: No connection could be made because
the target machine actively refused it.

The audio jack has in fact composite video (Yellow RCA) as well. No need for an HDMI to RCA converter.

Anyone succeeded in having the Garmin GPS 18x-15 Hz mouse (link below) work with the RPI? http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/GPS_18x_Tech_Specs.pdf I have the version with the bare wires, and first need to figure out what each wire is/does. Pi Zero on eBay

I was rather very disappointed that all places I knew had sold out of the raspberry pi zero. Finding out later that many are now on eBay and commanding very high prices makes one even more upset. What the #@$%$& is wrong with these opportunistic individuals trying to kill this hobby? This is not the...

Sense Hat - Sampling rates for the on-board sensors

Any one knows the sampling rates (how fast data is acquired/updated) for the various sensors on the Sense Hat? Primarily the accelerometers/gyros.

Re: Best way to measure RPM of rotating shaft

Here is a 'crazy' idea, though implemented commercially on some measuring devices.

If you monitor the current ripple (that you're feeding to the motor), you should be able to calculate the resulting RPM. All you need to know is the number of coils on the rotor ...

Re: Must-Have Add-Ons ?

Thanks. Those are rather obvious and MORE than just needed. I was thinking more along the lines of experimentation with electronics, such as:

1 - Sense Hat (which I already have)
2 - Stepper Motor(s)
3 - Interesting sensors/actuators
4 - other HATs ... ?

Must-Have Add-Ons ?

I know the answers could be very broad here but, what would you consider the must-have add-ons to an RPI are?

So far I have the Pi camera, Sense Hat, and the 2" Adafruit PiTFT screen.

What else would you qualify as 'must-have' ?
